No connection with Aqara devices

I often have a problem when a new update for HOMEY PRO 2019 comes in, the whole network breaks down.
I most often lose devices connected to power (routers), those on batteries rarely lose connection with HOMEY.
Some time ago, the Aqara temperature sensor dropped out of my network, I tried to add it in a million ways, but HOMEY doesn’t see it at all. I thought the device was broken. But yesterday the Aqara door sensor dropped out of my network. I tried to connect it, but the same thing happened as with the temperature sensor. I tried connecting while holding the device close to Homey, clicking the button every few seconds to keep the device active, but it didn’t help at all.
Please help.

Things you can do:

  1. Replace the power unit by a decent one, 5V 2A (or up); I’d replace the cord as well.
(The original power unit is known for deteriorating in time)
  2. Reinstall Homey software, this solved the weirdest zigbee issues;
It’s called “Download full software update”.

While it shouldn’t affect anything, I recommend to have a recent backup at hand.

Where can I buy a new power supply? Does it need to have any specific parameters?

It’s quite standard, 5 Volts and 2 Ampères minimum
Often people have a Samsung phone charger or ipad charger lying around, which you can temporary use.
You can request a replacement unit with Athom when the issue is solved using the temporary power unit.

Is there any article describing the effects of a malfunctioning charger?

Not that I know of, they don’t openly admit it can cause problems. And not each and every power unit suffers from this issue. Probably it has been several batches.

The malfunction consists of the voltage dropping bit by bit over time. That can cause all kinds of issues.

I connected it to a stronger charger. Of course, I had to turn off HOMEY, and when I turned it back on, nothing worked, only battery-powered devices were visible. I reset it many times, but still nothing worked. Only when I restored it to factory settings and then uploaded a backup did something start to work. But still, many devices are inactive. They are visible in the app, but when I try to turn them on through the app, I get an error.
And of course, I still can’t connect to the devices I mentioned in the first post.

I wonder why you did not try step 2. first?

When you perform a factory reset and then Homey downloads updates, I think that’s what you wrote.
Or is “Download full software update” something different?
When it comes to restoring factory settings, this is something I do fairly regularly, as only such an action restores at least partial connectivity with the devices. Without this, Homey is completely useless :frowning:
