I am using the Hue app and have about 25 bulbs that have been working well. A few months back, I replaced the Hue Bridge with the Pro, and the migration to Homey Pro (2023) also went well.
Now, I’ve added two more light bulbs to the Hue app, but they won’t show up in Homey. I’ve restarted the Hue bridge, the Homey Hue App and my Homey, but nothing seems to pick up the new bulbs. I have previously added light bulbs to Hue (on the older bridge) and had no issues with Homey picking those up.
For testing, I reconnected my Home Assistant Yellow, which I used before Homey, and it picked up the new light bulbs just fine. HA Yellow is also using the Hue integration.
The only other thing left for me to test is removing Hue integration from Homey and then adding it again. Will Homey remember the names, areas, and flows these devices used? It will be a pain to redo all that, and something I’d rather avoid.
Uff! Whats the best way then? I could potentially remove them from Hue bridge and directly add to Homey. That would split the system but I won’t have to recreate everything.
I wouldn’t recommend that, you lose many features (firmware updates, scenes, the easy to use Hue app, etc.) when you connect them directly. Are you sure you selected the correct bridge during pairing?
Lightbulb moment! I forgot you had to manually add them to Homey and just assumed they’ll automatically show up. Added new devices and instead of those 2, all 40 showed up, so I now have tons of duplicates that I need to decide what to do with. Lovely.
