I totally agree. The new layout is stupid.
And some widgets on my homescreen do not load anymore. I only see spinning wheels.
Best to report this to Athom so they can follow-up.
With the dashboards, all residents here will once again have to get used to the fact that you shouldn’t click on the tile, but in the top-right corner. Quite difficult on a tablet mounted on the wall. That represents a major step backward.
At least it is consistent now with the web app

Though I totally get why the names ruin the look.
I like the quick actions, but wish we could set defaults for different device types
Having to change it manually for each device is just time consuming and prohibitive from a good UX perspective

I welcome this update, I think it can be really useful. However it does need some work. On several devices its not possible to configure the status indicator. This leads to duplicated and unnecessary information in the quick action and status indicator. @Doekse is this something that needs to be change at device level or in the mobile app?
For example I have a door lock with an built in contact sensor. At the moment I can select lock status for the quick action, the status is repeated in the status indicator and I cant change it. It would be great to display the open/close status at the bottom.
I don’t mind the changes too much, except for it being inconsistent. I got my smoke alarms set to show ‘all alarms’, which ends up with nothing being shown and the titles not aligning nicely.
I do understand the arguments about not having a hitbox big enough for easy toggling on iPads for example. I wish there was some middle ground, where it would be customizable.
Also, I am on SHS 13.2.1 and I am unable to change the quick action button, the menu is just missing for me. For all the devices in my ‘Bijkeuken’ (side kitchen ), I don’t want a button there as they are all set to ‘Always on’.
I agree with you on the alignment point, though one small nuance: Homey does show nothing when there is no alarm. When there is an alam, then the bottom row shows the indicator. Same way of working goes for other alarm based devices, like motion and door & window sensors.
In the interest of consistency, what I don’t understand is why the indicator of one contact sensor is displayed in blue and the other in orange

Blue means it’s included in zone activity.
Orange means it’s not included in zone activity.
But that’s not a new feature. Previously, only the small dot in the upper right corner was displayed in either blue or orange.
Interesting. Never noticed that distinction before; I though those alarms were always displayed in blue 
. But you are right: the orange one is excluded from zone activity.
though, I am tempted to give the Rookmelder a different status indicator.
For my dashboard i switched back from beta tester and reinstalled the app to stable (v9) version and switched of automatic updates.
Seems like they have brought back the grayed out when off in the latest version! 
I also think it’s a nice update, especially with thermostats where you can now see both values.
You can always revert to the original version via device settings, perhaps it could be a little better for people who have a lot of tekst in their status bar. But overall it think it’s a great update.
I have updated to the new App, where this futures are included.
It’s good for many cases.
BUT!
I (and others) have virtual devices to set the home to “slapen” modus with a virtual device.
In the past when press the virtual device it togles to the other state.
With the new function we have to press the (verry little) button.
Not user friendly on my wall mounted Ipad!

make here a future “behavior the old way”?
Old behavior: Just press anny where on the tille/button and toggle the state 
It’s strange, because in earlier versions of the app you could switch it back to the old layout. If you turned off “Quick actions,” the device would behave just like all the earlier versions. Now if you turn off “Quick actions”, you just lose the button on the device, but pressing it once doesn’t change its status it just opens the device page.
And although some people really like how the device turns dark gray when it’s turned off, I find it much calmer when everything is the same color. Since the quick action button changes color and the text for example, “Light: On/Off” is displayed. I found it clear enough that way, the device doesn’t need to turn dark gray again.
Ok thank you, then it could be a bug.
Normal, a long press opens the device page!
I reported it to Homey support, i hope they will fix it.
