mmWave devices compatible Homey pro

Hey all
Do any of you have any experience with a presence (mmWave) device that is compatible with Homey Pro?

My need is, I have a small room, that I would like to know if somebody is presence in the room.

The SONOFF Zigbee Human Presence Sensor (SNZB-06P) should be sufficient for a small room. The maximum range is approx. 4 meters.
I have already used this myself and have had very good experiences with it. However, I have not yet used any other presence sensor as a comparison.
You should know, that people are also detected through wooden doors. In my case, the roller blinds were also detected as movement when they were closed/opened.
This sensor is supported by the test version of the community SONOFF Zigbee app and the official Sonoff app.

I have the SONOFF presence sensor setup in my home office, and the Aqara presence sensor in my Kitchen/Dining Room.

The SONOFF sensor is much easier to setup and get working. Works great, but not a lot of features beyond basic presence sense.

The Aqara sensor is much fancier, but not natively supported and kind of a lot of work to get going. I use it in my kitchen and dining room because it has zones so it can cover both rooms separately.

Also the SONOFF sensor is less than half the price.

Any new devices that are now supported?

Meross MS600 works (via Thread on Homey Pro - early 2023). But only basic presence and lux. No movement.
Here’s a review (not in Homey)

But… why do you put it that way: presence is the main purpose of a mmWave sensor!

Some detect motion too slow, so additional motion sensors might be needed in certain situations.

Because the MS600 has also a PIR sensor for movement.
I pointed it out for more information in case you want to integrate it into Homey

Apollo has a few interesting mmWave devices and expandable to include several environmental sensors. They can be expanded to include several light and air quality sensors. The site posts the “Works with Homey” stamp and the app store has the app in beta. Anybody have experiences with Apollo?

I am planning to order in a couple weeks.

Do let us know your experience. I’m looking for a few mmWave sensors and I would be great if these work

Ordered the Apollo “R PRO-1 PoE mmWave Multisensor (LD2450 and Optional LD2412)” with all the optional sensors. Will report my rexperiences and opinions. This will take a ninth.

I use the Aqara FP1e, paired through the Aqara M3 hub via Matter - works perfectly and took about 8 seconds to have up and running. I was thinking of giving the FP2 a try - but your comment is giving me pause…

where do you find the homey app from apollo? and do they work out of the box with homey or do you need to progam esphome or something?

They don’t work correctly. Waste of money at the moment. Homey pro doesn’t see them as motion sensors. Developers don’t respond.

Thanks!

This was just posted

And do check out the ESPhome app, b/c Apollo devices are ESP based

Thanks again for sharing this! Please let us know if there are any questions!

The Apollo app is available as test version as of this writing. I’ve installed it but i have not been received the sensor yet. So it’s very new and I’d expect a few issues until they get to the official release. I’m feeling adventurous and feeling this will work well in the coming weeks.

Thank you for your support, and please keep us updated on your experience! We are community-driven and welcome feedback to help us improve. Be sure to take our Future Product Survey and let us know what types of sensors you would like us to develop. We are actively working with Abe and the Homey team to officially release the Apollo app, so stay tuned! We are happy to answer any questions!

I’ve connected the R PRO-1 without issues. At this time the Homey App Test version is not fully functional but what I’ve seen is looking good. The CO2 sensor works well! They will need to offer calibration offsets for the temperature and humidity. Patience for for the radar features is required as they release new versions. Using the iPhone “HLK Tool” I am able to track the RADAR through a wall and upright piano so I’m, excited.

As a developer who has been away from my Electrical Engineering roots for a while I’ve become interested in ESPHome boards. The R PRO-1 should also be able to support ESP-Presence and so not only tell where a person is can also say who using the BLE devices they are carying. Yeah that could be useful.
