I never had that issue, strange. I moved to a new place and do not own a Mertik fireplace anymore. Sorry to say that I cannot continue maintaining the project 
Just an update, my changes that are running on my Homey and working are located here: GitHub - obel-org/homey-mertik-wifi: Homey plugin to control Mertik Wifi Connected fireplace
For now I will also not distribute to the store.
