Merge Homey 2016-2019 and 2023-2026 firmwares

Hello,

I have a suggestion:

Currently, the Homey Pro 2016-2019 are running a different firmware as the Homey Pro 2023-2026/mini. I recently read that both got upgraded to Node 22. Since they have the same Node version and the same features (ZigBee, ZWave, RF, IR, BLE and WiFi), would it be possible to merge the firmwares? I think that would save Athom a lot of time, because instead of adding a feature/bugfix to 2 different firmwares, they can just build it in 1 firmware for all Homey models.

Would this be possible? Or does the Homey Pro 2016-2019 have hardware limitations?

The environment in which apps are run was updated, not for the Homey firmware itself.

Yes → Comparing the existing Homey Pro models

Yes, I know. But I mean hardware limitations that prevent a merge of the firmwares. But as @DaneedeKruyff said, it’s not possible since only the app environment got updated to Node22.

Just look up the processor,
Both CPU and other hardware parts are different.

And they did that for a reason,

That’s what I wanted to point out.
