I use a multi sensor 6 for this exact purpose. Rock solid results and in my case runs from a 5v power supply plugged in to a mains outlet
Thanks for this once more really helpful comment as well from my sight @Peter_Kawa.![]()

What for a coincidence, because I’m interested in a outdoor sensor from Aqara, but have only very little knowledge of this as well as of Zigbee technology itself.
Do you or anybody else know, if this sensor offers advanced settings referring to the time interval or threshold, according to them the sensor’s values are reported to Homey?
I got to know this feature from some Z-Wave based sensors like the TriSensor of Aeotec (which I can really recommend by the way, although not for outdoor temperature purposes), as you see in the screenshot below:
No problem, Albert.
Aqara doesn’t have report intervals, it reports when there’s significant change in value.
Unrelated, but it does offer offset settings
In zigbee2mqtt it reports in steps of 0.1:
Hey Peter,
thank you so much for your prompt feedback!
Once again really helpful!
I appreciate your support very much. It’s what the Homey community is for: to help each other!![]()
Referring to the advanced settings of sensors, I intend to purchase the AerQ-Sensor of Aeotec. A sensor for temperature and humidity measurements, suitable even for outdoor usage. To ensure this, I requested extraordinarily Aeotec’s support. It’s in the end only a matter of increased battery drain, as I was told.
But it can be reduced to a minimum regarding the settings and the thresholds as wells as the intervals of measurements respectively.
Greets
Albert
