Local users

It is what it is. Also still happy with my 2019 and a new one is easy to buy when its necessary. As i know your on HA too. Local acces on Homey when internet is out is possible too

Yea I use H.A. as well, but just to be clear I was talking about the Homey environment with this, otherwise it wouldn’t be fair:

I don’t understand how to log in?
I enter my email and password, the same as apps. but it doesn’t log in, so what is my login, I didn’t understand.
Please help, what is the path there?

Everything is explained in their relevant knowledge base article. You first need to create a new local user and password: Using Local Users on Homey Pro

in the sense that if I’m an admin, should I create another new admin?

Yep

It’s two completely different accounts. The original account is an Athom account, enabling you to login to your Homey(s) from anywhere.
The local account is a new account for the new feature: local only access to your Homey.

Well, I think it is good news! I use a Homey Pro in a Holliday home where my clients use my tablet to put on the lights (etc.) and without internet, the tablet does not work…. so the ‘local user’ feature will be used shortly by me…

Thanks, I activated local, and now the email and password are the same as Homey.
I just have one more question, is it possible to use local on a phone? because it immediately throws me out of the App store.

I do not know yet… The tablet is ‘allready’ a user with kiosk mode.. I will install it because there are a lot of works from the phone company in the area….

As far as I know, it only works with the web app; not the mobile app. Though you can, of course, open the web app in a browser on your mobile device.

A bit of-topic: I hate that they do that. Why is my Homey telling Google that i use a Homey?

It runs without cloud. Privacy friendly, yet it call’s to Google?
That is something that Athom should not do and even needs to do. I block *google and it works, so why. Anyway,

On-topic. (solved: Local users - #36 by Ronald_Otto )

Updated but i do not see the opstion but the webinterface works. am i missing something? I followed these steps: https://support.homey.app/hc/en-us/articles/22924537226268-Using-Local-Users-on-Homey-Pro:

Ah, found it. You MUST disable the user that you want to give local access.
The how to does not say that..

Leaving it here for others with the same issue.

I’m not sure whether that ia actually the case. I did not have to disable my own (owner) account in order to enable local access.

If I am correct, the available options to a user depend on the role of the user. As an owner you should be able to manage all accounts.

Nope, that is not correct.

Correct, other users can only set it for themself.

So I guess your webbrowser needed to refresh the content of the WebApp.

Hmm.. Cool all that caching… But some things should not be cached imho.
No biggy, but indeed, i checked it, and now i can enable local users for all users… Not jus the one i disabled a few seconds before.

Thanks for pointing that out!
