Kwikset 914 ZWave lock Issues

I am experiencing an issue connecting my Kwikset 914 lock to my Homey system via Z-Wave. Despite following the recommended steps from both Homey and Kwikset, the device fails to include and repeatedly displays errors such as:

"Unable to connect"
"Something went wrong communicating with the device"
"Try again"

I’ve already tried the following troubleshooting steps:

Factory reset the lock:
    Removed the battery pack.
Held the Program button while reinserting the battery pack.
Observed the red/green flashing lights indicating a successful reset.

Excluded the lock from Z-Wave:
Used Homey's exclusion feature and followed the Kwikset exclusion process (pressing the button once).

Attempted the inclusion process:
Put Homey into Z-Wave inclusion mode.
Pressed the "A" button on the Kwikset 914 once, as per Kwikset's instructions.
Followed Homey's additional step to press the button again when prompted.
Ensured there were no obstructions and kept the devices close (within 1 meter).

Verified firmware and hardware updates:
Confirmed Homey is running the latest firmware.
Checked Kwikset 914 documentation but did not find firmware update options.

Checked for Z-Wave interference:
Ensured no metal objects or electronics were causing interference.
Reset Homey’s Z-Wave network to remove any possible residual associations.

Despite these steps, the issue persists, and I have not been able to find error logs that provide more detailed information about the failure. If I had to guess the issue is related to the fact that kwikset says once for inclustion and then again for exclustion and homey whats you to press it two times in a row.

Could you please assist me in resolving this? I would appreciate any further troubleshooting steps, guidance on compatibility, or insight into whether this might be a known issue with the Kwikset 914 and Homey integration.
