I was going through the settings and came upon the one called “Timeline” and was wondering if anyone can explain what the thing on that view means?

You can hide messages from the timeline and you can activate push messaging for categories (every message from this category is forwardes as push message)
Hm ok, where is the timeline located? Is it Insights?
In the web app, that you are using in the screenshot, it can be found by clicking on the bell icon in the top right.
In the mobile apps this can be found on the homescreen, or with the beta updates as a widget on Dashboards/the homescreen.
