Anyone set up this before? I tried using the official app, but even though it said Homey would send the signals, there seems to be no communication with my Mitsubishi and Homey - despite line of sight.
Homey’s IR is pretty weak, have you tried moving the Homey closer to the AC? You can also use a SwitchBot Hub Mini instead of Homey’s built in IR, this has an integrated IR blaster and you can add it to Homey as well
Shouldn’t it go for 5m?
I can look into the switchbot, but they aren’t really that available here in Norway.
There are also generic Tuya WiFi IR blasters that work with Homey via tap-to-run scenes, but the range really depends on which model you get.
Thanks! I ordered a Tuya IR blaster from China. It was about 1/10 of the Norwegian price ![]()
@smarthomesven Do you know which app to use? I checked most of the ones in the app store, but none of them listed IR-blasters.
Hi, you need to create Tap-to-Run scenes for each button that you want to use in the Smart Life or Tuya Smart mobile app. Then, install this Homey app:
Use the Flow card “Start Tap-to-Run”.
Ok, I’m completely new to the Tuya app, but how does that work? I was hoping to use Homey’s built-in discrete IR codes.
You can’t use Homey’s IR codes. First, install this mobile app:
Or Tuya Smart is also fine. Have you already connected the IR blaster to that app?
