Infrared, no line of sight

I have a ceiling fan in one of my bedrooms which is controlled by infrared remote (in my possession).
My Homey Pro is in the living room.

There is no line of sight between the Homey and the fan.

Is there an easy way to let me control the fan with Homey?

Putting this in Google “ir from one room to another” and a lot of solution to see.

One option would be a SwitchBot hub. I’m sure there are other solutions, but I am biased because I write the SwitchBot app :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

That’s what I do, and I’m not biased :slightly_smiling_face:. The app works really well.

Thanks Andy. But how does the hub bridge the gap between Homey and my fan. I’m a bit of a noob on the matter, how does the physical setup look?

You can use a Homey Bridge in Sattelite mode and put that in the bedroom to send the IR commands from there

Homey and the Switchbot hub connect via WiFi. Unlike Homey, the hub can record keys direct from the remote which ensures you can emulate all the keys you need even if there’s no profile for your device.

I set up scenes in the hub to send the necessary command(s) and execute them from Homey and/or Alexa.

Do you have a Homey Pro 2023?

Yes I have Homey Pro 2023

Just making sure the Home Bridge was an option
