hi, so far i have researched that a normal light dimmer cant be used for a inline duct fan, is there any kind of homey compatible solution for a speed controller for this?
Hi
Bumping this post instead of making a new one as I currently are researching this mater.
My discoveries so far:
- A dimmer could be used as a speed controller if it supports inductive load and enough amps.
- No dimmers I can find supports inductive load
- Some forums has statements that a specific dimmer supports inductive load but when I check product data sheet it does not.
- Some forums has statements that people are to test or have tested for a short time but then no more verification.
I would preferer if there is a product like a dimmer that can be used for this. If there is no such thing a dedicated speed controller receiving a analog or digital signal from smart output device is next research.
My goal is to make a flow when the fan speed is adjusted by a co2 sensor. Fan makes to much noise when on and there is not enough air exchange when it is off.
Please share if you have advice or useful knowledge about this. Thanks
