Yes, changed it there also.
Well, worst case is connecting everything up again from start, and with 7 curtains (and 5 remotes) that is not som tempting…
I find 90% of issues are resolved with a restart of the IKEA hub
It’s a bloody terrible ecosystem tho, so flakey.
I haven’t managed to access any devices via the IKEA app since I changed phone since trying to activate a new app resets everything on scanning the qr
So, - put in the security code and authenticated, got a new PSK. Then, when trying to reach a curtain I got a new error: “recived fatal alert: undefined”. (they can all be reached for the Ikea home app).
But a new restart of the app fixed it - now it works again - thanks!
Anyone connecting these directly?
Trying to get the signal repeater to connect and it’s just not working
I have it plugged to an extension lead right next to Homey
Pressing the button with a paperclip for >5s as advised by manual to reset. Get a bunch of flashes but the device add not recognising anything
Have also tried the app instructions of holding til you see flashes but this never does it…
Anyone got any advice?
I have a problem with Ikea Fyrtur. During the day, one or the other blind stops responding. Occasionally, the blind will show a Timeout in the application. The only thing that will help is restart Homey. Do you know what it could be? They worked normally for the first week and now it’s awful. I tried to re-pair the blinds, remove the battery for a long time, but nothing helps.
Installed one of these this weekend.
I did the “shortening” trick using the instructions from the YouTube video. That worked well. Was smart to lubricate the plastic bearing with Vaseline before reassembling.
Setting up the “smart” part was easy. I first paired the signal extender/repeater with HOMEY; easy. Then I paired the blinds with HOMEY; easy as well.
I then put the blinds in place and waited for an hour. After the hour I could control the blinds with HOMEY without any problems. Mind you, I had at that time NOT connected the extender/repeater and still have not; the blinds work flawlessly without it. That is probably because I have a Philips HUE hub installed within a few meters from the blinds.
I created a few scenes in HOMEY so that I can control the blinds with my momentary switch (Fibaro dimmer switch using the second (scene 2) button functionality). Pressing once opens, twice closes and press and hold a second sets the blinds to 50%.
I also reconnected HOMEY to Google HOME Assistant so that I can now also use that to control the blinds; love it.
I have tried to find how to set the “upper limit” on the blinds, just like you can set the lower limit by positioning it at the lowest level you want it to be and then pressing the up or down buttons on the blinds itself twice (to “store” the setting). When I now open the blinds, they just go all the way up until they get blocked at the top and hence cannot move any higher. Then they stop. Would like for them to stop on the “open” command (press once on the upper button on the blinds) to a set position (2 CM before the top). Anyone know if this is at all possible on the blinds itself (I know how to do that in HOMEY by just setting the % on the action to be taken in the scene.
The Hue hub doesn’t do anything for the quality of Homey’s Zigbee network.
Could it not act as a repeater? HOMEY is in a completely different room, as are all my other ZIGBEE devices. Everything close to the blinds is Zwave.
No, it creates its own completely independent Zigbee network.
Hi there,
I bought a FYRTUR block-out roller blind and integrated it into the Homey Bridge. after the battery was dead, I charged it. However, the app still shows a battery alarm and a dead battery. The curtain works well, but how can I update the battery level?
Best regards, Ulf
I have recently bought “Tredansen” blinds so I hope they will be added soon because at the moment they don’t work with homey…
I have asked Athom to add the “Tredansen” blinds but they said;
Thank you for reaching out and submitting your request for adding Tredansen to the IKEA app… Although we originally have created the Homey app for IKEA, we have only limited resources to add new devices, so the best way to realize implementation of new devices is to get in contact with IKEA directly."
uhmm… wait… what?
Why would IKEA do that? They have their own platform and gateway to keep up and running. It brings them zero value.
Is it just me? I find it to be a very weird response… The platform can be open and what ever, but if Athom does not support devices, why would anyone buy a homey? I always figured, they would make stuff work AND people can add their own stuff. Not the other way around.
And… how would I get in contact with IKEA and speak to someone that understands my request?
“Can you please add support for your device to a third-party platform instead of your own?”
Moreover, Athom’s IKEA app isn’t open source (at least I can’t find it anywhere) so how would IKEA even be able to add devices to it?
We all create a diagnostic report with the request to add the Tredansen? Then the developer will get the request and the if that is Athom, then Athom is responsible for the App and not IKEA.
The new blinds should be supported with the test version.
Have installed FYRTUR with remote control that belongs to the curtains, the problem I have is that I cannot stop the curtains in another desired position with the remote control.
So I have made fixed position on the up/down buttons.
Is there a way to make the curtains stop in a different desired position with the original IKEA remote control?
