IKEA TRÅDFRI not recalling Moods correctly

Hi!

Quite new to Homey here, so sorry if this is an obvious one that I’ve should have figured out myself.

I have a mix of six IKEA TRÅDFRI GU10 and four Philips Hue E27 bulbs (without the bridge) connected to my Homey Pro (Early 2023). When I recall a mood, the IKEA bulbs respond, but they don’t necessarily go to their correct levels or color temperatures. Usually I have to recall the mood three times for all the bulbs to go to the correct setting. Any ideas?

Cheers,
Bjarne

Hi Bjarne and welcome.

When you mean a few random lights do not ‘listen well’ when changing the scene: this could be the result of a giant Homey flaw:
Homey sends all commands at once, instead of synchronous (with a slight delay between every command). This results in too many wireless commands, causing signal disruption of some kind.

Try to split the mood group in two, for example.
Or check the Zone Memory app!

Many thanks for your great answer, Peter! Been playing around with the Zone Memory app – what a great tool! How would you suggest I use the app for my issue? Also, I Googled around some more, and found someone suggesting the Group app for a similar issue. And yes, when I control my six GU10 bulbs as a group fixture rather than individual fixtures, the different moods recall correctly. I guess that the Group app incorporates some microseconds of delay between commands.

YW!

Zone Memory:
You can use the ZM app scenes as moods, but I don’t know how sophisticated moods would be.
I don’t use it, as it’s a paid option for older Homey Pro’s, and I use only 2 fixed scenes with non-color lights

Group app:
Correct, the group app commands every group member synchronous, even the delay-between-commands is adjustable.
