How do I connect a Zigbee Vibration Sensor in Homey?

I purchased a Zigbee Vibration Sensor that works in the Tuya SmartLife app. I am trying to connect it to Homey so I can use it as a WHEN in an Advance Flow.

When I try to connect it to Homey, I select the Tuya app, select the Vibration sensor, and then it directs me to connect it to the Tuya Smart or SmartLife app. I have the Smart Life app on my phone as I use it for some Wi-fi plugs. But I cannot connect the Vibration sensor in the app on my phone because it is zigbee, and my Android phone obviously doesn’t have zigbee capability.

If I try to connect it in Homey by selecting Zigbee device instead of selecting Tuya and Vibration Sensor, then it connects, but it only connects as a generic zigbee device and does nothing.

Any assistance to get this connected would be appreciated. Thanks.

This is the Zigbee Vibration Sensor that I purchased.

The official Tuya app is cloud only. It relies on your zigbee devices being connected to a bridge in the SmartLife app.

INSTRUCTIONS
The Tuya App for Homey is compatible with both the ‘Tuya Smart’ and ‘Smart Life’ apps for iOS and Android. Before connecting your Tuya-enabled devices to Homey, ensure they are first linked to one of these apps.

There is a community app that allows you to connect Tuya zigbee devices directly in Homey currently in test. [APP][Pro] Universal TUYA Zigbee Device App - test

Besides that, there is always the option of using zigbee2mqtt, but this would involve a more complex setup requiring a zigbee dongle and the zigbee2mqtt service running on another computer, an MQTT broker and the zigbee2mqtt app on Homey.

You need a Tuya ZigBee or MultiMode gateway to connect it.
