I have an MQTT server and MQTT client set up, along with two devices that provide data from our electricity meters. I can see in the client logs that all devices are connecting and sending regular updates. I can process the data in flows, but I haven’t found a truly practical use for it yet. For ex…

To get a device for these values, you have to create a so-called AVD (Advanced Virtual Device) with the Device Capabilities app. Please use this link to install the app, because it’s the lastest test version of the app, already published on December 7, 2023. You can believe me that this version is …

I have no clue, what to do. In the Device Capabilities is 0 matching template for Tasmota power meters… I also guess i would need to add a tasmota device in the 1st place to use Device Capabilities, but this still fails. What exactly do i need to do to add a Tasmota device? The server and client ar…

Who said, that the DC app has templates? No, you don’t need a tasmota device in 1st place to use an AVD from the DC app. If you already have a tasmota device, why should you create a virtual device from it? What sense does that make? [image] Michael_Fritzsche: What exactly do i need to do to a…

I find it weird that I have the MQTT server running on my Homey, but I can’t directly see my Tasmota power meter readers. However, I can add these devices in Home Assistant and then re-import them into Homey through the Home Assistant integration. Somehow, this feels like shooting myself in the bac…

The biggest disadvantage of Homey is that if a device is not supported by any app, then it is not possible to use it, at least not without some workarounds. But HA is much too complicated, at least for me. MQTT is maybe an exception, but only because many MQTT clients have HA MQTT Auto Discovery in…

But i still have no clue, how to directly add a Tasmota device! As i just wrote: The MQTT server is up-n-running on my HomeyPro. All devices can be discovered BUT - only from Home assistant! Trying to Add a device directly in Homey gives a “not device found”. I dont get what could be wrong here. […

[image] Michael_Fritzsche: I dont get what could be wrong here. As already explained by @DirkG : Home Assistant has a specific MQTT autodiscovery mechanism. Homey doesn’t. You need a specific app if you want the same for Homey, and AFAIK, such an app doesn’t exist.

The Homey Tasmota MQTT App supports just some standard capabilities/devices: The current version of the application supports on/off capability for single or multiple sockets devices, power monitoring, dim, light_temperature, light_hue, and light_saturation capabilities for single socket devices. …

I expected, the Tasmota app would be able to discover these energy meters, since these seems to be one of the main use cases for MQTT and it also has this: [image] But since you can set up whatever structure you want for the device, its impossible to guess what to set up on the device that it matc…

I had also installed the Tasmota MQTT app a few months ago in the hope that I would be able to use my Hichi IR reader for electricity meters with Homey. But that didn’t work either. I’m currently also importing the data from HA via the Home Assistant Community app. But only because the Device Capab…
