Homey Self hosted - NETWORK REQUEST FAILED

Hello everybody,

I installed self hosted homey on a win 11 pc with VM WARE. Configuration is ok and Homey app correctly see it but when it comes to connect, I receive this message : NETWORK REQUEST FAILED.

I tried to switch from host to nat and back but it doesn’t work.

I’m using a Sky wifi router connected to a fritzbox 7590 (used for wifi with 3 repeters). Might it be a problem with closed ports on the Sky or fritz router ?

PS ; I’m also running an homey pro first edition

Hi Nicola, I use VirtualBox but had also problems with my network connection.

  1. With VirtualBox you have to make sure that the right virtual network driver is installed. I don’t know how it works with VM Ware but if you have any other virtual image which works with you network this should not be the problem.
  2. I had to switch to NAT and was able to load the latest version from github at once.
  3. I had to use port forwarding to reach SHS over the ip of the host with the forwarded port 4859.
  4. Make sure you use the private networkprofile with Win11 and not public, because with the public networkprofile other computers cant’t see your machine.

I’ll try to check the info you gave me and if I can’t succeed I’ll give a chance to virtualbox.
