Homey Pro Mini delivered to EU - will it work fine?

Hi,
When googling for the Homey Pro Mini I found a site that ships for free (+ taxes and duties etc.) to the EU. While I know it isn’t released here yet, even with duties the price is comparable and I’d quite like something sooner rather than later. Is there any reason that it wouldn’t work just fine in the EU, with a power adaptor (or does it support PoE?).
Thanks!

Do you want to share the site that will ship to EU for free

Apollo Automation. Taxes and duties look like they’ll be $45-ish, so comes out at ~225eur even with free shipping. Site looks legit enough otherwise!

Just to see what “free” actually costs, I tried to reach the point where taxes and shipping gets calculated, but seems impossible to view before confirming the purchase.
I hate that “trick”.

All explained by Justin of Apollo below!

Apollo has a forum topic by the way, you can ask your questions there:

.

For web shops in general, that’s not how I would conclude “yeah it’s OK” :face_with_peeking_eye:

Thanks for checking out the shop, and yes, WE ARE REAL! Haha! @Abe_Haverkamp can vouch for us.

We ship internationally and offer free shipping on international orders over $200.

I am a co-founder of the company, and you can reach out to us directly. Our Apollo Homey app is in the final testing phase, and our sensors will soon be compatible with the Homey platform. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Best,

I can definitely vouch for the team over at @Apollo_Automation!

Just a quick heads-up from the Homey side: the Homey Pro mini isn’t officially supported outside of the USA and Canada yet, so it won’t come with an EU power adapter and such. But we also can’t prevent you from buying one. If you’re looking to get one through a local reseller, you might have to wait a little longer.

Thanks for elaborating, Justin. I edited my post :grimacing:

is it posible to specify ““a little longer”” ? do i need to think of week’s ore months?

FYI I received my Homey Pro Mini from Apollo Automations - I think I ended up paying about 225eur total - and, along with a 5eur USB C EU power plug, it works great! Very happy with the usability and performance for my basic use cases (a little less so with how much rewiring is required for non-trivial light switch setups but that’s not Homey’s fault).

Can’t get more specific than soon™

Thanks for the response, then i wil wait for soon :see_no_evil_monkey:

This whole release has been so poorly communicated.

Announced about seven months ago for an April release.

It’s now July and Athom still can’t even confirm whether it will be on sale in the EU and UK, this year.

It has been announced for a release outside the EU and communicated that a release in the EU is not to be expected soon amd that no launch date (for EU/UK) is given.
Although this is perhaps not what customers please, the communication does seem clear to me.
Please tell is if and where you found other information.
