Homey Pro (2023) joining Apple Thread network

Hi all! First post here, so please bear with me. I just checked my Thread networks via Homey and discovered that apparently, my Homey Pro has joined my Apple Thread network. Or was it the other way around? In any case, the Apple Thread network has even been renamed to Homey Pro. I have attached a screenshot from Home Assistant as proof. I had thought that given the nature of the dual antenna in Homey Pro, this was not possible. Has this changed? And could this be at the root of my constant issues with Thread on Homey? Thanks for chiming in!

The screenshot misses…
But AFAIK Thread does not join anything, or even renames anything by itself.

Maybe this is useful knowledge:

I’m very sorry about forgetting the screenshot. I have included it now. Thank you for your answer! I’ll have a look at the links.

It says you have 7 borders routers (and probably 4 Thread networks, as the Apple devices will all use the same network). I don’t know why you think that Homey has joins Apple’s network, nor do I understand why you think the Apple Thread network has been renamed.

No, this is actually from Home Assistant’s Thread integration. It shows all the Thread networks in your setup. “Homey Pro” is the name of the network; all of the seven border routers beneath are part of that network. So just like the Home Assistant border router, Homey has joined this network. When I connect a Thread device directly to Homekit, it shows up on a network called “Homey Pro”. You can check this via the Eve app, for example. So this is very real: either Homey Pro has joined the Homekit network or the Homekit network has joined the Homey Pro network. I will gladly offer further proof from diagnostics if you like.

Thx for adding the screenshot.

What’s different from my setup: It looks like you haven’t added any Thread device to H.A. yet.

What’s odd to me, it says “Homey Pro” on top of your Thread overview:

while here it says “Thread”;
When I navigate from either

or

it says “Thread” on top:

Homey Thread:

(it has no Thread devices added)

Did you add a Matter-over-Thread device to Homey or not yet?

You should remove the part between homey- and .local from your screenshot, it contains your Homey CloudID

Thank you for pointing this out! I just did. Phew, I’m an idiot…

I have added plenty of Thread devices to it. But they constantly go offline, which is why I removed them again.
