Homey firmware v3.0.0 (exp)

Apologies, I missed that message.

I do not really see or notice if they stutter or do not start. very hard to notice isn’t it?

What i did notice is the fact that you cannot see how often a consecutive flow has been started in flow.homey.app (hovering over the relevant flow). I built some new consecutive flows. The first in the chain nicely shows how often it has been started. Consecutive flows show: ‘Started 0x’

I do not know if it is 3.0 related.

I think this happens on v2 as well, people have noticed it before.

For most of them, that’s true. But I have a few of these consecutive flows which turn on specific lights and the music. With those, I easliy notice that they didn’t start of course

This hasn’t happened on V2 with these flows before (in my case at least).

Seems there aren’t a lot of Homey users with the same issues, so it might be an incident. I’m still waiting for a reply from Athom on this subject. Will get back to this thread when/if it’s resolved.

For those following this issue.

Athom already mailed me tuesday but I missed the mail. They replied that it might be the number of apps installed (24) and also asked for information regarding memory and storage. I will update when I get a new mail from Athom.

I had contact w/ 1st level support of FIBARO in DE now; poor experience as the answer is simply “we do not support any issues related to 3rd party HUBs. Pls contact Athom”.
:nauseated_face::wink:
Responsibility is hard to take…

Now I am waiting for FIBAROs (directly in PL) answer to that.

However: the issue never occurred - at least to me - w/ previous versions.

I have similar problems with my Homeys. The first one and my replacement. You are not the only one going through this. v3.0.0 operates pretty much as the previous versions, except I noticed many devices has minimum and maximum usage values. Are there any notes on how to use this new Energy? I have seen a post where they talk about a battery indicator on the top right, but mine does not have this. I have reinstalled app and still doesn’t have it. Anybody know how to use it? Thanks.

You need the latest version of the according app eg on iOS via TestFlight.
The App has the same old(-fashioned) look&feel but it comes with that awesome the new energy tab that everybody was waiting and asking for.
There you need to define for the devices 2 values; one for consumption when turned on and one for consumption when turned off.
It’s obviously pretty awesome as this is only working for devices that have a clear power consumption when turned on; using it with the real power eaters in a household such as an oven or washing machine it is of course not working.

edit: me updated, me not happy, this not a major update, just a couple of hours binding the power consumption in one page

I’d call it a 2.5.3, not a 3.0!!

To bad the “energy” tab is only available on my ipad, and not on my iPhone8, despite both running the save version. I guess the screen of the iPhone8 is too small to show the additional tab.
I was searching for the Energy tab on my iPhone8, but couldn’t find it. Then I tried my 9.7” iPad, and finally found it. But my iPad is to big to use every time I am interested in the energy consumption and/or battery state.

Remove the app and download again, i had the same on my iPhone 11 Pro, the app was updated but not showing Energy.

I also see people say logging in and out of your account is enough.

It should work on an iPhone 8 (it works on my iPhone 7 after logging out and back in again in the Homey app).

Thanks! Removing and reinstalling worked for me!

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried the testflight but didn’t work. Then they released the 3.0.0 and the app updated and like magic, Energy appears.

On first impression. Athom done a reasonable job. While I like what I see, I have the following feedback to them.

  1. White on bright green. What were they thinking? Maybe colors should be user defined?
  2. Fibaro dimmer 2 does not allow me to put a min and max consumption. I think I read somewhere that Fibaro has to fix that part up and not Athom.
  3. Six hours of data for a device is not long enough. Maybe 24hours as a minimum.

What do the others think of it?

RE: robertklep
About iPhone8. FYI mine is iPhone8 IOS13.2 and works fine. Thought I would let you know.

Regards

The Fibaro dimmer 2 has its own consumption measurement.

Even in the insights, individual values are recorded only for 6 h. Everything> 6h is smoothed!

Yeah i have the big update!!!
i can see the total energy usage of my toon and also the energy of some other devices XD
so i use more energy then i realy do :stuck_out_tongue:

but there is realy nothing else changed?
or are there some bug fixes?

For me it’s a bit of a useless update. I don’t really see the value in it. It claims to save energy, but they want you to buy Innr smart plug’s to measure all devices… That’s actually adding more standby devices and consuming more energy.

I’ve just been active for a couple of months on these forums… but I cant really recall any wish for these kind of options?
For me I really want the little things get fixed. Like the Milight light mode parameters (capabilitiesObj) are not stored: ‘enableWhiteMode’ ‘enableNightMode’ ‘toggleScene’ These values are always “null”. Probably just a simple bugfix, but it seems really hard to contact Athom about it. Github bug reporting is closed, Tried this forum, email, filled in a google forum about it, Published in the app review… got zero response.
months after filing the bug the Milight app got updated… but the bug still exists…

Or a dedicated iPad version would be nice.

And… did somebody already mentioned the Zigbee rewrite?:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
(All though my Zigbee environment seem to work just fine.)

Athom should show it’s face more on this forum. A device so reliable on community participation really needs direct and open communication with the hardware developers.

There is no one at Athom or within their surrounding that has some international at-the-cutting-edge-Marketing-and-Customer-Journey-a.k.a.-UserExperience-Knowledge at all.
If you saw Homey „App“ v1.0 and you didn’t loose your light of eyes due to that UI accident you’d know what I’m talking about.
Just to be clear:
It’s a bunch of nerds that created a technical solution to gather a couple of protocols and standards in one device; however - the main props have to be given to the community as Athom didn’t do really much within the last years to develop anything further but outsourced the real work and efforts to the voluntary community / devs.
Therefore: DON‘T expect any logical things!
The Energy-tab is praised as 3.0 - so what?!

It would’ve been nice to take some Pros into consideration for further strategic developments or at least for a small UIR (review of user behaviour) - but it’s a pretty well known psychological effect in our branch and this branch as well that causes people to tend to think they can do everything on their own; during the last years I had some Million Euro startups (a Mio is nothing nowadays, believe me!) consulting us to change stuff in a very late stage, ending up in a decline as they simply missed the point to change their strategy to a very much more customer centric position. Some strategists call it „the Ikarus effect“
After years and experiencing 3 out of 4 technical or software-solution startups failing at the point where technology doesn’t bring the bucks anymore … I just call it dumb. :man_shrugging:

OT? Might be… but to say it clear:
What did you expect? at least it’s not transparent…

With all the respect, I would love to see all those fixes mentioned here. But do you know better solution providing such a capabilities on the market? If yes, please share it with us, I would like to try it.
I moved from Fibaro to Homey and I dont regret it. With Fibaro, every update that fixed something, another bug was incorporated. It was nice from UI perspective, but much more complicated to handle all the scanes/flows I needed.
