Homey Energy | Megathread

My Evapower battery is showed in the energy tab as “Smartmeter” and his value deliverd is calculated as used energy.

It is already showed as “Thuisbatterijen”

And not calculated twice, in the energy tab.

How can I fix this? Or is it caused by the Alphapower plugin….

I have this selected in the settings from the Evapower, for energy:

So it should not popup, as smartmeter.

I am able to choose dynamic pricing for electricity, but i am missin it as option for gasprices. When will this be introduced?

Hi, not sure if this is the best place to make this request (if not please point me in the right direction), wondering if the Energy Prices can have different prices of electricity for different times of the day? For example a peak and an off-peak rate, for the times of the day i specify. Secondly, is it possible for Energy Prices take into account the money generated by solar export? For example, the credit for solar export is $0.09/kwh, except between 3pm and 9pm, when its $0.18/kwh. Thanks, and please let me know if there is a better way to make these requests.

This is a must have as many European countries have different energy prices based on a simple schedule (day and night rates). Without support for this distinction, energy pricing and monitoring lost a lot of value. Should we start a dedicated feature request under Ideas & Suggestions & submit a support request for it? @Harwin @Doekse

This is relevant info, it was part of a discussion @ Slack a month ago, Didier. No need for panic.
(Can I assume you know the Weejewel guy?)

Thanks Peter. Yes I know who Weejewel is  . I’m actually looking for something much simpler than API support. Just a basic schedule: from 11pm - 8am: price X and from 8am - 11pm: price Y

I checked and my electricity provider does not offer a public API, even platform like European Electricity API Coverage - Grid & Retail Tariff Data | Prezio does not support it either.

Hi Homey, I like the dynamic electrical energy prices.

I wish that you would consider the y-axis being fixed. I know you have tried with color changing, but the color does only compare with the values of the day and not by price.

Example: the color does not vary if the price is above 4 kr. and green below 1 kr. and yellow between - it is only compared with the graph of the day. Saying red is the period (kl. 10-14) with highest price and cheapest period is green (kl. 22-24 ) as an example.

The axis of the two days are not easy to read and compare - see the attached.

Today vs Tomorrow:

vs

When y-axis is not fixed, it makes it hard for human eye to compare…

Hi all,

I just installed a HAN-sensor (whole-home energy meter), from Futurehome/Develco. It works fine, shows up as correct type of device, and shows consumption. However for some reason it does not show up under the Energy-tab - i still see “upgrade with Homey energy dongle”(which cannot be used here in Norway), and I get no graph from the meter on top - just the basic house graphic. Any ideas how to get it to show up? (it’s of course not set to “hide from energy”).

A second issue with it is that the consumption is added to the total - so now it shows up like my heated floors, lights and smart plugs use 700W, and the HAN reports 1100W(because I do not have power meters on all outlets) - it totals to 1800W instead of understanding that the 700W are “sub units” of the HAN meter.

It seems that the Homey energy does not support the 15 min electricity prices. Moreover, there are also still issues with updating the prices. Some times the prices update automatically but more often they don’t.

Yes, this is case for me as well. The dynamic pricing feature has been there for 6 weeks already and still it has severe problems. Probably Homey is focusing on something else right now.

One day 15 minute price. :frowning:

Why Homey Energy requires me to change the region to something else and then back to my region to get the prices updated? Is it just my Homey or does everyone else need to do this as well? Makes the whole functionality completely useless if I need to go and updated prices manually every day.

I have the same problem, have to toggle between two regions to get the prices updated. I am in Finland.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention! This was an issue specific to the Finland region. It should be resolved now. However, it may be the case that your Homey already tried to fetch the prices for tomorrow and got stuck with missing data, in that case you’d need to toggle between two regions to re-fetch the prices of tomorrow. You can also just wait for it to resolve itself in the coming days.

Hi, I fetched the data again by toggle to Sweden and back, and for the first time I saw the prices for tomorrow, why it seems to be fixed, thanks!

I just did that and it seemed to fetch hourly prices. That’s wrong. Finland is in 15 mins pricing.

Using Homey Mobile app v9.6.2 (currently Experimental) you can choose the desired interval in the energy price settings.

Ok I see. Assuming it will be soon released in the official version. I will wait for that then.

Ok, seems 9.6.2 version got released. Yes, I have 15 minute prices. Yay for that, but the cards still only refer to hours. How am I supposed to use these with 15 minute intervals?
