We use Google Home across our house to control our devices.
Yesterday, all of our devices stopped communicating to Home and all of them went offline. I tried multiple things to bring it back, including unregistering Homey from Home to see if that would fix it. Now I can’t register Homey again. Thought there might be an outage, but the Homey page seems to say everything is good.
Everything I’ve tried:
- Restarting Homey
- Restarting WiFi
- Trying to connect my Homey account through mobile
- Relinking Homey with Home
- Completely removing Homey from Home (as well as removing third party connection)
- Ensured both apps are up to date
Any advice here would be great, or if anyone else is having similar problems with their Google Home integration and this isn’t just me?
Next time before you start removing stuff, please check this first:
It disables itself after several days here.
and,
yell “hey google synchronise devices”
Just keep on registering and registering, until it finally succeeds.
I had tried both of these first, forgot to mention that in this post. Clicking it just errors now, as there’s no Google Home account registered
I have experienced the exact same problem. I’ve rebooted Homey and all devices on my network. When I navigate to the settings area on my Google Home app (as pictured above in this thread), when I try to toggle “on” the Syncrhonize to Google option, it spins and then times out. No success. I’m not sure what to do at this point. If I connect directly to Homey through the mobile app, devices are functioning properly. But NO connection to Google Home. It feels like a bug. Any ideas?

Homey integration with Google home is broken right now. It’s very frustrating.

Reading Alexa stopped working as of Jun 3rd, 2025, I think this is affecting both integrations, not just Google Home. I have sent a support ticket to Athom, may be good for others to do the same so they are aware of the problem. Their status page doesn’t seem very helpful as it says everything is working fine

Same issue here. It started only working occasionally yesterday, and today it is completely broken. I have tried all the steps suggested so far. Nothing has gotten it back up and running.

Thank you for confirming. What is the best way to monitor any updates? This stinks (as I’m sure it does for others). I left my SmartThings ecosystem several months ago to move to Homey. Ugh.

Same, Homey and Google Home were previously connected. In troubleshooting some intermittent control issues, I disconnected them within the Google Home app with the intention of simply reconnecting them in an effort to reset a connection.
Unfortunately I have not been able to reconnect them. All attempts are met with “Could not reach Homey. Please try again”. I can easily add and remove link between My Homey Cloud account and Google Home, but cannot reconnect my Homey Pro.
Deleting and reconnecting all 3rd party Homey connections with Google have had no affect. Frustrating as I rely on several Homey flows triggered via the Google Assistant. Creating a new Google Home did not work and I have far too many automations in my current Homey to start a new.
UPDATE: After days of trying to connect them in Google Home, one day it just (finally) connected w/o error. I now know not to disconnect services in troubleshooting and just be patient.
There’s no issues with my Pro 2019 & Google Home.
Maybe it’s Pro 2023 firmware related, b/c they were messing with it recently (added the option to select devices to sync)

After the Alexa outage was resolved, I was able to reconnect to my Google Home. All seems to be working fine now, so for any others with this issue would be good to give it another shot
