Homey dashboards slow to load widgets

Has anyone else noticed their homey dashboards are slow to load a few widgets?

Device widgets are fine. But insights, weather, music via Chromecast, TV status are all slow to load. Maybe 5-7 seconds before the dashboard is usable.

I’m guessing it’s because the widgets have to fetch data from the local device or cloud. Is there a way to have it refresh without having the android tablet always on?

Or anyone else finding the same thing?

Same here. Could be different scenarios:

  • Like you say, data needs to be fetched from the cloud or from the app itself, therefore it could take some seconds to load.
  • The amount of widgets on your dashboard also could cause some small delay.

I found that spreading my widgets on different dashboards does make a difference. f.e I had one “house” dashboard with almost 50 widgets ,which sometimes could take up to 10 seconds before it was all loaded, now I have different dashboards and it is only like 4 seconds or so.

I also hope there is a possibility to fetch the data on the background when the screen of my tablet is off.

Check you dashboard device’s network connection. I have some devices that work horrible on 2,5Ghz but fine on 5Ghz. If your Homey works on 2,5 wifi, create an extra SSID if possible.

So the tablet is on the 5GHZ band. It’s an older tablet. A Galaxy Tab A 2016.

My android phone, a Samsung Galaxy S22 loads the dashboard much quicker. In about 3 seconds compared to 10 like the tablet.

Could be just because it’s an old tablet. It’s been factory reset and I’ve disabled all the Samsung apps. I’ll try with another one some day.
