I added my father to my Homey as a guest.
But he often gets the message that the homey app is not working, while I can access it normally.
Could it be because he is a guest and not a resident that he is given less priority in the homey or maybe a setting in his phone?
Screenshot of the error message he gets a few times a day:
Is he all so connected to the same WiFi (and not to the guest network) where Homey is connected, or connected remotely via Internet?

It’s app or Android related, not connection or user account (type).
What might help (and can’t break anything):
- Longpress Homey icon
- Tap

- Tap “Force Stop”
- Tap “Storage”
- Tap “Empty Cache”
- Restart phone
- Open Homey app
No he is not connected to the same WiFi, he lives in another house.
But when I want to connect to homey from outside my house, I never have any problems with the app not working.
I will try this, thank you!
YW.
An somewhat easier way = uninstall app, restart phone, install app
I found out why the homey app crashed.
My father has a Mitsubishi air conditioner and you can operate it via the MEL cloud app in Homey.
But if you put the widget in your dashboard, the animations are automatically turned on. As soon as you start heating with the air conditioning, flames appear at the bottom of the widget and then the app crashes.
I turned off the animations in the widget settings and now no more crashes.
Hi @Rembo038
Indeed I’m aware of this issue, and that’s the reason why I created an option to disable animations.
It works perfectly on iOS / iPhone, and unfortunately I don’t have any Android device to debug.
Would you mind turning on the animations, and send Homey & app diagnostics, so Athom and me can try to figure out why it crashes only on Android devices?
Kind regards
Hi @OlivierZal
I made a diagnostic report of the MEL cloud app after it crashes, this is the code:
1fd5cc64-e290-4db2-8211-02f9de17fd48
Is this enough for you and Homey to maybe see the problem on android?
Received.
It confirms it doesn’t crash at my app level.
Can you now generate a diagnostic for Athom?
Same process: you let Homey crash, then you go to Settings > General, then “Create a diagnostic report” (at the bottom of this section).
You’ll get a report ID, that you need to copy here, and I’ll provide it to Athom for investigation at the Homey’s level.
I will do.
How far back can you look in a diagnotic report?
Because i first had to restart the app and shutdown the airco before i could make a diagnostic report. Few minutes and actions between de error and the diagnostic report.
What you said crash the app and then go to settings was not possible, because the app only works if the airco was shutdown. If the airco is on the homey app doesnt do anything.
You can fix in the meantime before to generate the diagnostics: make it crash, fix it, send the report.
Okay then i will do that.
You see no error in the diagnostic report i send?
This is the diagnostic report code of the Homey app:
CB0C2240
Hope this is what you need.
I’ll transfer to Athom.
