Homey 2026 Or Self Hosted Server

I currently have a Homey Pro 2023 which most of the time is sitting with 200mb free memory do I need to switch to a New Homey Pro 2026 or Self Hosted Server.

Would like to know peoples opinions which way to go or stay with what I have got

(Hmm, although a CM4 is hard to find I think and also isn’t very cheap anymore, Isee now. CM5 won’t work unfortunately)

The cost of a CM 4 8/32 is about £200.00 cost is no different to SHS & a homey bridge.

As for migration will probably going setup from scratch as need to completely rest thread network so I can get my homey on the same net work as my Apple HomePod mini, Aqara M3 and Home Assistant all on the same thread network.

I had this same battle. I eventually went to SHS because it offers more flexibility. Routines are snappy too and i dont get any memory warnings.

Modding is a great idea too but if it goes wrong, homey wont help you and you lose everything it will be a disaster

Just don’t forget the cost if needing to get a bridge or other Zigbee coordinator and HA and TBR

Other option is using Homey Link (i think its called) and for now keep use your HP23 and strip back all the apps and stuff you can onto SHS and keep devices on the 23. eventually buy other gear as you get settled on shs. There are some limitations with link though

never thought of keeping Homey Pro 2023 in the mix as well great idea, already have a Homey Bridge all good on that front. only use HA to run a could of Flashed sonoff panels but would like to switch them out for Shelly ones with Shelly Wall Display Dashboard | Homey so I can get rid of HA and moving Zigbee stuff of the M3 direct to home now the FP300 looks to be working fine when paired direct

The Homey bridge has some limitations too. With powered devices added first it can support quite a few devices but after 30 odd i found mine getting sluggish and had drop outs. I got a SLZBMR4U and use that for most Zigbee devices now with Z2Mqtt and HA which then bridges them to Homey. So far its been brilliant

I should be good as I don’t have that many Zigbee devises about 15 that’s all I run a lot of Shelly relays
