"HomeMate Neo/One" - Homey clone?

I just found an app named “HomeMate Neo”. It looks very suspicious, it uses the terms “Flows”, etc. Its UI looks just like Homey’s. See the screenshots here:

It looks way too much like the Homey app to be innocent, it’s obviously deliberately cloned. They even use “Flows“ as the term for the automations

It’s not available in my country, will try to get it into the Android emulator via APKPure, but not sure if I will be able to download it

Here is the Play Store listing

Wanted to report the app, but none of the options are related

Maybe @Emile or another Athom employee should report it to Google

And it has been renamed to “HomeMate One” it seems. It still hasn’t been deleted.

I was able to install the app. What I did was:

  • Download a sketchy free India VPN app from the Aurora Store
  • Changed the location in the Aurora Store’s Spoof Manager to India

Unfortunately, it requires the Play Store. My emulator doesn’t have that, so I wasn’t able to start the app

I might be able to install it in an emulator that supports the Play Store, but that would mean that I cannot intercept network requests. I can also try to export the APK

It’s region-locked and only available on Google Play-enabled devices/emulators, so I think it would be hard to intercept the HTTP requests.

I found the assets folder inside the APK. They even stole the Flow image from the Homey web app.

And also all of these images:
