Heimdall keeps reporting a delayed trigger – where is it coming from?
Hi Danee,
I’m setting up Heimdall on my Homey Pro (2023) with Aqara T1 door and window sensors.
Since the very beginning, while trying to get Heimdall up and running, I’ve been receiving notifications stating that no alarm is triggered because a delayed trigger is active.
I’ve checked the sensor and delay settings several times, but I can’t find any sensor with “Delayed Trigger” enabled. Both the arming delay and the alarm delay are set to 0 seconds.
I’ve now enabled “Allow Alarm while in alarm delay”, and this does make a difference: I’m now receiving alarm notifications. However, I still don’t understand why Heimdall thinks a delayed trigger is active in the first place.
Could someone explain how I can identify where this delay is coming from and how I can safely reset it if necessary, without having to rebuild my entire alarm setup?
I’d really appreciate any help or suggestions, as I’m still setting everything up and would like to get it working correctly.
Thanks in advance for your help!
kind regards,
Katinka
Welcome here Katinka.
Can you please revert the Allow Alarm while in alarm delay setting and next stop and restart Heimdall, wait a bit and trigger the alarm. When the notification is there again, please send in a Diagnostics Report and post the ID here.
Hi Danee,
Here’s the diagnostic report ID: 036c0c02-23c9-4274-bbc0-9c6039647d09
Thanks for your quick response! I followed your recommendations, and the issue with the delay trigger notification seems to be resolved. However, the flows I created are no longer working as intended, even though they worked correctly when the “Allow Alarm while in alarm delay” setting was enabled.
I’m not entirely sure what’s causing this or whether I might be missing something in my configuration, so I’d really appreciate your help in figuring it out.
If I’m not mistaken, you’re Dutch as well. If you have some time, perhaps we could arrange a quick call or virtual meeting so I can walk you through my settings and show you what’s happening.
Just let me know what would work best for you.
Thanks again for your time and help. I really appreciate it!
Best regards,
Katinka
Hi Katinka,
There’s no trace of a delayed trigger in the log, so that looks good. But, it looks like you have a flow that changes the Surveillance Mode when the Alarm is triggered, but I can’t be 100% sure.
You also say you have a flow that behaves differently after changing the Allow Alarm while in Alarm Delay, can you post a screenshot of that flow?
If there are more flows, what happens when you disable all but that one and test again?
Hi Danny,
Thanks for your help!
I’m new to Heimdall and have created six flows. As a new user, I can only share five pictures, so I’ll send screenshots of five flows for you to review and help me identify any issues.
The sixth flow is:
ALS: Heimdall: het alarm is geactiveerd
Dan: pushmelding: “Het alarm is geactiveerd” naar iedereen sturen als kritieke waarschuwing
I’m currently trying to get the basic alarm notifications working:
- Confirmation when the alarm is armed
- Confirmation when the alarm is deactivated
- A warning if a door or window is already open when I arm the alarm
- A notification when a sensor triggers the alarm
At the moment, I only receive a notification about an open door or window if I open it after the alarm is already armed. However, I want to receive a specific warning during the arming process when a door or window is already open, rather than only when it is opened afterward.
I also don’t receive a warning when something is already open while arming the alarm, including the notification with the sensor tags. In addition, I don’t receive confirmation that the alarm has been armed.
Please let me know what I need to change. I’m also happy to disable some flows while testing if that would help.
Thanks again!
