Heimdall - Let Homey watch over your home

@Ronald_Otto can you show me please the exact advanced flow ?

you use delay because of pre-check the sensors?

@DaneedeKruyff I am brand new to Homey, looking to migrate from Smartthings as Iā€™m looking for a more robust system. One key element Iā€™m looking for is home security. Iā€™ve been reading through your topic and I donā€™t see anything stating that your app provides for some type of virtual keypad to pop up on an ipad placed near our front door, allowing for a person entering our home to disarm the system. Does Heimdall support that type of functionality? How else can someone disarm the system if they donā€™t have the Homey app on their phone?

Also, Iā€™d like to know if you are available (for a fee) to advise me on setting up the system should I indeed need some guidance? Thanks.

Hi, welcome here.
Itā€™s not possible for an app to create UI features and Athom has not provided a keypad so itā€™s not possible fo Heimdall to present a virtual keypad.
Please send a feature request for this to Athom.
Heimdall does support the use of a Ring or Frient keypad.
Before you start, please make sure homey fits your needs and youā€™re comfortable with the way it works, what it can do and most importantly what it canā€™t do.
Also, donā€™t try to dive into the deep end before youā€™re familiar with homey. Start slowly and only when youā€™re comfortable with how homey works start to build the neat stuff.
Iā€™m sure this topic will give you enough information on how to configure your homey and Heimdall, and if you have any questions, just post them here.

@DaneedeKruyff Thanks for the reply, Iā€™ll send the suggestion to Anthom right now. Iā€™ve researched as much as is feasible, Iā€™m going to buy the hub and give it a try. Iā€™m sure Iā€™ll be reading through your thread as Iā€™m setting things up.

Hi @DaneedeKruyff , I sent you Migration to Homey Compose + preparation for next HP23 firmware release by shaarkys Ā· Pull Request #74 Ā· daneedk/com.uc.heimdall Ā· GitHub request to get Heimdall ready for next upcoming change. Based on quick test itā€™s working fine for me but due to the Homey Compose migration, itā€™s probably better to keep it some time as test  Anyway, if you do not want to keep Homey Compose, feel free to reject my commits.

Hello @DaneedeKruyff !
With the arrival of Dashboards, do you plan to develop a widget?
I think it would be really great to have one

Hi @Mikl,

What would you expect a widget for Heimdall to do?

Hello @DaneedeKruyff

Why not a widget that allows you to configure the monitoring mode, with a clickable icon that changes depending on the state.
Maybe also add details, like the number of active objects in the selected mode (maybe just their number per category)
We can also imagine having the time of the last activation/deactivation.
Also, why not a button that allows you to directly access the application settings?

For me, the first two ideas are the most important functions.
In terms of size, I would say a 1x3 or 2x3, depending on the number of information displayed.

What do you think?

IMPORTANT: Prepare for the new Homey Pro 2023 firmware 12.2.0

This only applies to users of Homey Pro 2023

Athom will introduce a change in Homey Pro 2023 firmware which will make it behave like the Pre Homey Pro 2023 firmware. In the older firmware Homey did not automatically create flow cards for Custom Capabilities that replaced build-in capabilities, this was unfortunately changed upon the release of Homey Pro 2023. This meant that Homey created flow cards that were never intended to be created but Athom has now decided to revert to the old method. This is good news as such for Homey Pro 2023 users because Heimdall will now only have the intended flow cards that specifically fit Heimdall just like the older Homeys!

Unfortunately thereā€™s also a downside to this. Any user that has used any of the unintended flow cards in flows will have to replace these cards with the intended cards, if you however have used the first post and posts in this topic to configure Heimdall youā€™ve used the correct flow cards, just make sure to check your flows.

If you have flows that use the flow cards that will be removed and you donā€™t prepare before the release the flows will be shown as broken after the firmware is installed on your Homey.

What will you need to change?

When: Act on a Surveillance Mode change

If you used the The state changed card from the Surveillance Mode Switch you will have to replace it with the apps Surveillance Mode changed card, the token from that card will hold the new Surveillance Mode.

So, replace:
image
With:
image

And: Check the Surveillance Mode

If you used the The state is card from the Surveillance Mode Switch you will have to replace it with the apps Surveillance Mode is card.

So, replace:
image
with:
image

Then: Set the Surveillance Mode

If you used the Set state card from the Surveillance Mode Switch you will have to replace it with the Set Surveillance Mode to card.
(If you already use the Set Surveillance Mode to card youā€™re fine)

So, replace:
image
with:
image

Then: Deactivate the Alarm

If you used the Press the button card from either the Alarm or Surveillance Mode Switch you will have to replace it with the apps Deactivate Alarm card.

So, replace:
image
and/or
image
with:

It is not clear when this new firmware will be release, it was supposed to go out to beta on the 7th of oktober but seems delayed.

Now, I cant start with the state of Heimdall  How can I use the tag (state of the Heimdall)???

I use virtual button too and now everything are broken

Any help pleaseā€¦

Hi George,

Heimdall has not changed lately, so Iā€™m not sure what you mean with ā€˜many changesā€™. If you mean you changed a lot in your setup and/or flows I suggest you to track back what you changed to come to a solution. If not, Iā€™ll need some more info to help you out.

Hello all.
I am using Homey and Heimdal for about a month now. Love both.
But, of course there is always a but, i have some issues with motion sensor when they are low on battery they couse an alarm. My neighbours are not happy with that. This could be prevented if there was an option that at least 2 triggers had to be triggerd before an alarm would go off.
Would it be possible to implement something like that.

Thanks for all the good work

Hi, I think heā€™s right. My flows are broken too.

Has there been a firmware update recently?
(Iā€™m quite busy at the moment so not up to speed with the firmware updates)

If so, then thatā€™s the cause. Athom has announced a firmware where behaviour of the Homey Pro 2023 would be corrected and conformed with the workings of Homey Pro 2016 regarding the creation of flow cards for overridden capabilities but was not aware this had been released.

What? Well, long story but the thing on Homey Pro 2023 was that under certain circumstances homes created undesired flow cards and this has now been corrected. When you now have flows with missing flow cards you have been using the wrong (undesired) flow cards which were never intended to exist.

Fortunately I looked into this earlier and made a comparison of the current flow cards that would be removed due to the change Athom made. (I didnā€™t link this to @iGiorgis post as this wa s some time ago already)

The top rows are the cards that were introduced by the Homey Pro 2023 firmware that are not defined in the app, these are removed when the new firmware is installed. (Set Surveillane Mode to ā€¦ will remain)

The bottom rows, under Current cards to replace removed cards, are the cards that have been build in the app from day one and are the ones intended to be used.

It really bugged me when Athom released the Homey Pro 2023 firmware that behaved differently from the older firmware, Iā€™m actually really glad Athom is finally going back to the previous method.

Could you please check your flows and see if you can replace the cards from the Surveillance Mode Switch that will be removed by the new firmware with cards from the app itself.

In my opinion loosing the flow cards from the Surveillance Mode Switch will not change anything in the functionality of the app, even though I understand itā€™s cumbersome for all users that have used these flow cards that never should have existed.

Hi Tom,

The option of requiring 2 triggers to activate the alarm has been discussed before, itā€™s somewhere in this topic, and Iā€™ve decided to not add that functionality.
The problem is the misbehaving sensor, I will not try to fix that with a workaround in this app.

Thank you for the quick reaction. I do understand wat you are saying. The sensor is not misbehaving. It is ment to do that. That is however also the sensors ā€œproblemā€. And not for you to solve. I still love heimdall :+1:.

Well I do think itā€™s misbehaving, Heimdall reacts to Motion (and Tamper) Alarms, an (almost) empty battery should trigger a Battery Alarm and not any of the others resulting in the unhappy neighbours you have

my heimdall spam changes the status to armed,
