Has anyone succeded to connect the Vaccuum Narwal Flow or Flow 2?

I am very interested in purchasing a Narwal Flow 2 or Narwal Flow robot vacuum that is compatible with Matter. Unfortunately, I read that many people have problems connecting it via Matter to Apple Home. In fact, almost no one has succeeded. I was wondering if the same problem occurs with Homey. Has anyone had the experience of trying to install one of these vacuums?

There is no Homey app for it yet. Which mobile app does it use, I’ll see if it’s possible to reverse engineer the app.

Also, you can request an Homey app here:

AFAIK no apps are needed for Matter devices.

Yes, not for Matter devices but I highly recommend not to use it because of countless stability issues (at least in my experience) so a cloud/actual Homey app would be better. AFAIK Homey also uses an older Matter version which doesn’t support robot vacuums, but I might be wrong there

Based on this site, robot vacuums are part of Matter since version 1.2. The Homey OS version released yesterday (v13.3.0) updates its Matter support to version 1.5, according to the change log.

Sorry Sven, but there are plenty of users for whom Matter devices work without any problems, including me. That’s why I think it’s wrong to RECOMMEND against using Matter devices. Of course, it’s perfectly fine to share your personal experiences.

Even the outdated knowledge base article on Matter notes that robot vacuums are generally supported, and that was already the case with Matter v1.2:

With the latest firmware update, v13.3.0, for Homey Pro and mini, the Matter version was updated to 1.5:

However, that doesn’t mean that absolutely all features are supported across the board! To check that, you’d have to take a closer look at the Matter specifications.

I don’t understand how anyone can recommend a cloud connection either. As soon as the internet connection is lost, the devices stop working.

@SunBeech, thanks for the links to the related information sites. Now I don’t have to look for them myself…

Ah okay, I thought Homey used an outdated version, but appearantly it has been updated already

The app is just called “Narwal”. If you could make an app for Homey, that would be amazing !
