Robot Vacuum Via Matter

Hello,

Anyone integrated their Robot Vacuum via matter? I have a Switchbot s20 added into my homey pro. I saw blog posts and videos where it shows room information showing in homekit and other apps for this particular robot Vacuum model when integrated via matter. It doesnt show room information in homey for my vacuum. Also in flows i only have one “Then” card where i can set to clean or docking. Dont have the option choose the mode for ex. vacuum only, mop and vacuum.

I am trying to understand if it is the limitation is on Homeys Matter implementation or Switchbots.

Waht does your robot vacuum Matter integratin look like?

Thanks,

Most probably only very basic functionality will be available, like start / stop / pause.
Because robovacs are “special” devices, with often their own ton of unique features.

Matter not a wonder: is aimed at simple straight forward generic stuff, like lights, switches, plugs certain sensors.

Hi, I just connected my EcoVac vacuum cleaner to Matter and I have the same issue as you. I can manually change the cleaning type (mopping and vacuuming, vacuuming only). That’s great because that’s what I need. However, in the Flow interface, I only have one “then” card with options like “create a card,” “start,” and “stop.” So I don’t think this is a limitation of Matter integration but rather a limitation specific to Homey?

Not necessarily, but Homey is not leading when it comes to available Matter possibilities

Unlike the title, this is about robovacs & Matter:

Unfortunately, Matter devices are still unreliable. Often, various devices do not function properly (e.g., plugs do not display energy consumption). Some devices do not function at all.
As things stand today, I can only recommend that everyone refrain from using Matter if possible. If you do use Matter, please ask in the forum whether anyone has experience with the device and whether it really works.
