Google text to speech (tts)

Actually there are two app in the HCS, which are the version fixed and rewriten by Martin…not sure which one has been used…

My Google text to speech is updated but all the flows where my Google nest or hub should talk is not working anymore.
I get an error " Missing arguments for the card homey:app:com.google.tts tts"
If i edit the original flow and I make a new card with the same arguments then the flow works again.
Is there something changed because of the update to Homey 2023?

You can just update existing ones…

@Sharkys You mean I have to make the part of the flow from TTS again so it will work again?
That is no problem, but if it is something else I must do that after another update of TTS again.

This app was udated for SDK3, some flowcards have got extra fields, just fill in this fields and it works again, the developer has forgotten to make defaults for this fields.

@JPe4619 Thanks.
I will fix the flows, no problem.
It was more about that if I now fix the flows and that tomorrow there is an update I have to fix them again.

You never know  The original developer is not very much active here and Martin, who has rewriten the app, probably did it with good intention. So depends what comes first, I have corrected all flows in the meanwhile, as I prefer have it working.

I think he did his best to update the app.
This sort of things can happen.
I only have to start up the pc to edit the Advanced Flows.

Exactly, I was already desperate even there is another alternative  But it’s way too much complex for my situations . Glory to Martin

So, that update broke all of my TTS flows as well. Now that is one thing, I’ve just finished updating the most important ones though. Annoying, but hey. Another thing is that it’s really finicky now.

For example, I have an “if” card and a “then” for the TTS that works fine. If I then add an “and” card, the TTS stops working. I even had one flow where I had an “and” for the time of the day, and depending on what time I put in, it either worked or it did not. If I edited the time or just removed the “and” entirely, it started working again. Some of my flows just plain didn’t work, but worked fine when I made the very same flow as an advanced flow.

In the end I just gave in and just made a couple of advanced flows instead of the many ‘simple’ flows I had for similar functions that predated the introduction of the advanced flows; it seems like the latter don’t have this particular issue. But it’s weird that the time of the day broke the flow, and also that the ‘simple’ flows are much more buggy than the advanced :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Anyone else noticed something similar in their flows?

The only thing I have to do to repair my flows were change the lines Slow Speach, and Send to a muted device.
They were both not marked as Yes or No.

Update: a little restart fixed the issues!

Hi there, I ve used the new app for a while now, but noticed the flows on my ‘hub mini slaapkamer’ don’t work. After researching a bit, I found out that the hub isn’t available on the list. Any idea how this happened? It seems to find groups that don’t exist anymore but doesn’t find the one that’s actually there.

If you are on test version , go back to the regular version.
Solved it for me.

Hi there, ik on v3. 1.1 (latest version).
Downloaded cast to Sonos and Google from hcs.
Everything works fine, as long as I keep restarting the app with flows.
If u don’t restart the app, it can’t find cards when I create new flows and the cards just don’t work.

There kinda is no problem with this workaround, but a fix would be nice. Or is there anything I can do myself?

@Martin_Verbeek , i have the same issue again:
Homey doesnt play the card. It shows the error 'Encountered an unexpected error value: “undefined”
When I select the device option in the card, it doesnt show any mini. Just the broadcast to all (which also doesnt work).
Anything i can do ? in the past, a restart made them appear again, but now it sadly doesn’t.
I tried the latest verison on HCS, Cast to google and sonos and the normal verison. All have the same issue.

@Glenn_Dijkstra yesterday none of my smart speakers got listed, today only one is missing and it’s no playing… maybe try to share the debug ?

i think google is making changes to casting…casting a radio station doesn’t work here either at the moment
