Goodwe Energy Meter

Hi All,

I have a Goodwe solar inverter which comes with an energy meter energy meter. There is also a Goodwe app for homey where I can see real-time energy info for my house. However, the device is not recognised by Homey as an energy meter and therefore I’m losing out on a lot of Homey functionality. Obviously, doesn’t make sense to buy yet another energy meter, so how can I make Homey recognise this device as an energy meter?

The app developer should use meter_power as energy measuring capability, and measure_power as power measuring capability;

You can find out by following this link:
https://tools.developer.homey.app/tools/devices,
and enter the device name of the Goodwe app in the search bar.

If you don’t find the aforementioned capability names, you’d ask the developer to adjust it.

Hi Peter, thank you for your help. Strangely, both those attributes are used in the app as you can seee in the screenshot. But Homey does not recognise the device as a Power Meter. Maybe a device can’t have two functions? Homey does recognise it as a Solar energy device, ie it shows up as Solar Power in the Energy tab.

I see! That’s correct.
There’s nothing else I can think of. It’s best to contact support as well I think. Support | Homey
