It would be extremely helpful if the “Insights” tab in the Homey web app included a save feature, allowing users to store custom insight sets for quick and convenient access.
Ideally, these saved insight sets could also be organised into folders, similar to how flows are managed. This would make it much easier to structure and revisit important data.
Currently, the Insights tab resets every time you navigate away from it, which significantly limits its usefulness. Not sure what was the thinking behind that idea.
You could use a customised home screen and/or dashboards with the DataVista graph widget. That would seem to do what you want with a lot of flexibility you don’t get from built in insights graphs.
I didn’t mean “save out the data.” I meant that the insights themselves shouldn’t disappear the moment you click away. What’s the point of spending time creating charts if you can’t save the view/layout/whatever you want to call it for future reference?
Yes, technically I could achieve something similar with dashboards, but then what’s the point of insights? I would prefer keeping insights and widget dashboards separate, as they are now, but without insights resetting the moment you click away.
After you make your selection of graphs in the web app’s Insights section, you can save the URL/web address as a bookmark/favorite. That also contains your selection of graphs.
That’s good information, but it’s still way less practical than having it organised in the same way as flows/devices. This just proves it would be easy for them to do it. I guess we can hope.
