[Feature Request] DIM to XX% over XX min/sec

I really would like to have a THEN option for DIM to XX% over XX min/sec

I understand that there are work arounds with chronograph and transitions, but this really should be implemented in the base code - you shouldn’t need third party add ins for a simple fade in or fade out over 5 seconds.

Apps like Hue & Ikea for instance, have this option by default.
No clue why it isn’t implemented/implementable by every app with lights.
Also not sure how this works with Matter lights.

For generic Zigbee (so Hue) lamps it is available.

I have Zigbee lights from INNR (INNR app) and Philips Hue (Philips Hue, without the bridge app) in use and it’s also possible.

This option seems to be available in the “standard flows” not in the “advanced flows”

EDIT: Sorry, wrong information
See remark from DirkG here below, thanks DirkG.

No, that’s not correct. The option is also available in Advanced Flows. Just do a right click on the flow card and choose „delay“.

As additional info, a screenshot from an advanced flow:

Hmm. It seems that my lights are just not supported for this (Ikea Trådfri, Sunreacher dimmer using vesternet and a light that I have had to pair via the HACS bridge). I can understand the HACS app not supporting this, but am very disappointed that the IKEA app doesn’t given how popular their lights are. With about 30 different dimmable lights in the house, not a single one works for timed dimming.

The IKEA Tradfri app does have this.

For other devices where the app does not have cards for this, you can use a transition in the Chronograph app to achieve the same thing albeit it’s a fair bit more involved that way it does work with any dimmable device.

Ok, now I see it. I am posting the screenshots below for others to understand how to access it.

In a nutshell, it does not show up with the time option in the app list - it is a toggle that you need to turn on.

This is logical and easy to use, but it is a bit hidden when you are looking at several different flow options…
