Exclude from Google Home?

I’m a Homey Pro user (2023 model), and I saw that in the settings there is a “Exclude from Homekit” option. Is there any way to mark certain devices as exluced from Google Home?

That is useful for me because I’m the only one in my household using Homey, while the other household members use Google Home app for a simpler experience, and I don’t want them to be able to control certain devices.

No.
Workaround: move those devices to a second Ggl ‘home’ with no one but you having access.

Can you show it? Just curious.

It’s in the advanced settings:

Thx. That looks like a zwave device?
I never saw that “exclude from homekit” option anywhere, hence my curiosity.
Obviously I don’t use zwave devices

Yeap, it’s there for all my Zwave devices.

In the settings of the HomeKitty App it’s possible to add or remove single devices from HomeKit.
I don’t know if this is meanwhile also possible with the build-in HomeKit support, but I suspect not.

Where, not which devices they want to exclude?
Peter asked where it’s possible to exclude devices from HomeKit, not which devices you want to exclude from GH.

I think you misunderstand some things here, Dirk
Like, Homekitty is not mentioned anywhere.
Also no Apples related app(s).

TS just happens to have the option to exclude a zwave device from homekit (no clue why), from the advanced settings screen of his zwave devices, like the screenshot he shared.

I don’t know if that option is that particular zwave app related, or if it’s available in general for just any zwave device.

I can understand him asking himself why there’s no ‘exclude from Google Home’ tickbox also on those device settings page.

It’s possible to change HomeKit visibility from the device’s Advanced Settings, I assume only when the HomeKit Experiment is turned on.

HomeKitty’s way is obviously better, if you have 100 devices and only want to expose 1 to HomeKit, you have to change settings for 99 devices with the experiment version :stuck_out_tongue:

Ah I see. I never had the Homekit experiment option enabled.
I just enabled it, but no additional “exclude from homekit” tickboxes appear at any device settings page…
But Pro 2019 here, might be different on a Pro 2023.

Not really, but I overlooked the little entry about excluding the device from HomeKit in @Giovanni_Dienstmann’s screenshot:

That’s the reason why I mentioned @robertklep’s HomeKitty app because I use his app and I know that it’s possible to include/exclude single devices from HomeKit with his app. So I thought Giovanni is talking about the HomeKitty app. Sorry for this.

@Giovanni_Dienstmann, my suggestion is to make a request at Athom.

What is the best way to suggest features to Athom? Do I just open a support ticket?

Homey App Store → Support → Need Assistance? → My Homeys → Homey Pro (or however you named your Homey) → Voice Assistants → Google Assistant → Contact Support
