Dynamic prices and solar prediction

I have two questions:

  1. I have 15-minute electricity prices. Will these be shown in the Energy tab? Correction, there are 15 minutes prices in energy tab, but not in flowcards. Will it come in flowcards?

  2. Regarding Solar Forecasting: does it learn and improve over time? What information does it use—only the system details I have entered and the weather forecast?

Should I have to enter incorrect system values just to make the forecast more accurate? For example, I would like to be able to enter a maximum production value, since it often predicts levels that my system has never actually reached.

Yes I’m also interested in understanding how the forecasting is done and if (and how) it will improve over time

I’d also like to know more about the solar forecast. There is a link in the panel configuration, but at least for me, it leads to a page that doesn’t exist:

I already reported this bug to Athom last week, but so far there doesn’t seem to have been anything done about it.

Hi. Ive had the app update pushed out to today that mentioned this but i cant see how to use it. I cant find it. Sorry for the dumb question but how please

I can’t say anything about the dynamic prices.

You can find the settings for the solar forecast in the Homey smartphone app as follows:
Energy → scroll all the way to the bottom → Settings → Solar / Panel Configuration

Btw, the link to the knowledge base has now been updated, and it opens the correct page:
Configure your solar panels for a more accurate forecast

I miss panel set # 6

as I have 3 inverters with 6 separate strings :sun_with_face:

(This is in Home Assistant)

Sidenote:
the Power by the Hour app does the forecast calculations automatically, based on historic results.
I mean, no need for entering panel sets.

It took only 2 weeks to get quite accurate; the graph shows both forecasted and actual production:

Hello,

sorry but i cant find these forcast settings as well??? Is it in relation with the current homey version 13.4.0 because aim on 13.3.0 with my homey pro 26? In the Energy Tab i see all my PV Hardware and Wallbox but nowhere settings for this function?

My App is updated at latest version which should support the forecast…v10.1.0.2047

That is what i see in the app under Energy->Settings….

Ok. So i updated everything today.

Still not showing my end at all :frowning:

@Rammstein and @Welshsmarthome, I use an iPhone, and the solar forecast was introduced about 9 days ago with the Homey smartphone TestFlight version 10.1.10, which is now also available in the regular App Store:

As far as I know this forecast has nothing to do with the Homey firmware.

Latest app update

Still not showing :frowning:

Strange. Look forward to when it does work, does it support split strings, i have panels east, west and south facing!

Thanks

@DirkG…Thx for feedback…i use iphone as well…well then i dont know where is the different between us? why you have the settigs and we not? @Welshsmarthome have already confirmed that it isnt in relation with the current homey firmware…very interesting! Could it be it is country specific and depending of the variable price model for the electricity? Because in the actual iphone App version v10.1.0 the only different which i see was they had removed the option to activate the price model, on my ipad i had on older version installed there i can select the price model but i get the message “not availible in your country”

stupid question..do i need the forcast app installed on homey pro maybe  …from where else would homey get the datas???

Certainly do! Cloudy day here today

To whom it may concern:
All I can say it only appeared in my energy tab after updating Pro 2026 firmware to v13.4.0 the other day.
But it’s not mentioned as feature in the changelog, idk what’s going on…

Because I was looking for the panel setting after reading about it in this topic, and it wasn’t there.

My Android app was and is at v10.1.0.2047

No

Thx for your feedback & experience..i will update my homey today to v13.4.0 and wait the next days, i believe the rollout will be in steps for the users…

It went faster than I thought…update to v.13.4.0 and here we go…additional i have now the solcast app running as well

Needing firmware v13.4.0 is mentioned in an other solar panel kb article:

but needing app v10.1.x isn’t mentioned :face_without_mouth:

Okay, so Homey firmware v13.4.0 is required after all—I didn’t know that, sorry.
The corresponding page in the knowledge base wasn’t available when I installed the TestFlight version; see Post #2.

No, but I think that should be clear now.

No problem at all…thx for your replies, it is always a pleasure troubleshooting in this forum…i appreciate it! Well, I read this discription and there are no words about that on homey v13.4.0 is required :-)….

That’s unfortunately true. To help other users (and Athom), please report to homey.app/support, for them to adjust the knowledge base article (and have some users test if these articles are still incomplete).
