Hello, so I’ve lost internet connection and will probably be without it for a few weeks. I can not connect to the app through my phone even though I am on the same network, however if I put my phone in flight mode I am able to connect. So I figured I’d hook up my tablet that does not have 5G, however on that one ot just says aborted. How do I get access through my tablet and/or through my phone without putting it in flight mode? Finally I’d like to do some changes to some flows, how do I access it through my PC?
On the PC only if you created a local account. On your tablet probably not if it hasn’t had contact with your Homey recently.
But if your Homey is on wifi, you could shutdown your router and create a hotspot on your phone with the same ssid and password. Your Homey should connect and come online. You can connect your tablet to the same hotspot…
Alright, thank you, that did actually work, now I have access on the tablet!
My Homey is on wired, but it used to be on WiFi, so I disconnected the wire to let it fall back on WiFi, then followed your advice. Once I got connection I reconnected the wire and restarted my WiFi network and was still able to connect with my tablet.
As for PC, I don’t have that set up, so I’ll have to try that tomorrow maybe.
Do you have any suggestions for my phone? Can I block mobile network access for just Homey somehow to force it to connect through a WiFi without internet? Im on Android 15.
Homey mobile app needs to authenticate every two weeks.
Only with the recently introduced local account access, you can connect to Homey using https://my.homey.app
A PC isn’t mandatory, this works on a phone browser as well of course.
But, in order to create those local user accounts, the Homey app needs to be able to authenticate online at least once.
