I cannot connect to my Apple Home. I believe that you would need that in order to connect to matter devices.
I need to enable the Apple Home experiment? But that is not available in the app. Is that by design or am I missing something?

You’re confusing various things. What are you actually trying to accomplish?
There’s a major difference on which tool is used for adding Matter-over-Thread devices:
Connect via Homey Pro using my.homey.app:
This option is advised for most users, as it always uses Homey Pro’s own Thread network.
Connect via Android/iOS: This option uses the mobile device’s configured Thread network to connect to the Matter device.
For iOS users, this requires having a Thread Border Router active on your iOS device. Currently, Homey Pro’s Thread network cannot be added to iOS. So, a third-party Thread Border Router (e.g. Apple HomePod) is required.

The 2nd part of @Per_Klitgaard_Madsen ‘s question was left unanswered. I’m looking to enable the Homekitexperiment on my SHS instance but nothing pops up. I’m on Version 12.10.0.
I’d like to get that addressed before investing time in manually migrating my HP2023 to the SHS instance.
You’d try the HomeKitty app.
The Homekit experimental is unsupported, so I guess you’d skip it.
But if the Experiment can’t be found on the network, it’s likely HomeKitty can’t be found either. It’s probably a network issue, both implementations rely on a proper mDNS setup.
I don’t want to use Homekitty. I’ve had very mixed results with it in the past. I’m just looking for an update on the feature rather the workaround.
In that case, you’re in the wrong place.
How do you figure? Isn’t that the right thread?
This thread is about getting Matter working. The Apple Home experiment has nothing to do with that, and if it doesn’t work in SHS, you should start a new post.
