Cloning 433mhz devices - does it work?

Curious if you get it to work i tried yesterday but get the EINVAL (2:write) and no its not a rolling code.

This is a bug in Homey’s software that should be reported to Athom.

I will make a report right away does anyone know how long they are already working on this i see post back to 2023

Hi there,

also successfully cloned a 433mhz RF remote with 3 buttons controlling a Projection Screen. No rolling code from what I can know.

But got the same « EINVAL (2:write) » error while pushing on any of the 3 buttons.

→ Is this bug already reported to Athom ? Any update from athom or anyone here?

Just report it to Athom and you get your answers.

Thank you, I did it. Waiting for the feedback.

Hi there.

Update:
Got an answer from Athom.
It’s a known issue with some cloned devices, without knowing precisely which ones and why they trigger this error.
I sent more info about my buttons RF codes, and developers have been provided with those. No commitment given on any resolution date.. just waiting with my non-working devices..

I can clone a signal and replay it unlimited times(not rolling) where i name the signal, but when i add the unit and try to start/play it from the panel nothing happens?

Hello

I also successfully cloned a on & off signal from a 433mhz RF BT710 Thermostat (No rolling code from I expected.)

But got the same « EINVAL (2:write) » error while pushing On or Off button.

I will also make a call.

Hi Daniël,

Thank you for contacting support.

This signal isn’t supported for cloning. That’s what this error means.

Have a nice day!

Best regards,

Daphne

“Hi Daphne,
So, why are error messages often written in encrypted Klingon?”

“We don’t know either, so we just make up reasons so users stop bothering us”
