Cant start Samsung washer from a flow using Smartthings

Hi! I can’t select my Samsung washer in “THEN”-command in a flow. Neither the washing machine nor the Smartthins app appear to be selected . I would like to start it on a specific time. The device is added in Smartthings and i can find the washer in “WHEN”- command.

Hi Peter,

There’s no Then cards at all for the washer according to the app store page for this Samsung app

But, other SmartThings apps like the community app do have Then cards, so I think you should try them as well

I guess SmartThings Community is the only app I need.
I wouldn't have figured this out myself.

Do these community apps also still work after Samsung changed their API rules? apparently API tokens are only valid for 24hrs now. I did a reboot of my Homey, meaning I lost my old Token. Since then I can’t control my washing machine and Dryer anymore after 24 hours. Anybody knows how to solve this?

As explained in the community app topic of Adrian’s SmartThings app, it’s dictated by Samsung

I don’t quite understand how a Homey reboot can cause the loss of your token. It’s stored on “disk”, not in RAM.

Most probably you can restore a backup to revert it?

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your quick reply. For some reason my flows stopped at the “change washingmachine to run” cards. I got some error in return. I found out when i generated a new token, it worked again. So I thought that solved my problem. To clean up my smart things profile I deleted the old API’s, not knowing the new ones are only valid for 24 hours. I only found this out after the system stoped working again after a day and i did some more research. I’m affraid I lost the old tokens, even when I restore my homey to an earlier date.

I also found out the official Athom Smartthings app should not have this issue, unfortunately I haven’t been able to test this yet. However like mentioned above, this one only has a card to start a dryer. The washing machine can’t be started from this app. For that reason I used the apps from the community.
