Hi there, I was wondering whether I can use the relatively new Zigbee Somfy motors in Homey with the existing apps. I’m asking as it seems only RTS and IO homecontrol are listed as options (though perhaps that may have changed recently?)

You mean they’re controllable by your Somfy app that way, Adrian? I may have spoken too soon🫢

Correct. If they are added to Tahoma, then the Homey Tahoma app can be used to control them in the same way as RTS or io devices.

Well, you were right in as much as there isn’t an app to control them direct via Homey’s Zigbee :wink:

Well that sucks… I’m thinking of buying Somfy roller blinds and i’d rather have the zigbee protocol than the frankly ourdated RTS option… Seems like I have no other choice. Unless there is any chance that homey will support Somfy zigbee motors in the future(?)

Yea that’s true, but I didn’t realize Tahoma can handle Somfy zigbee as well. So they are usable with existing apps, albeit by using a hub :grimacing:

The Zigbee motors are a recent addition, so maybe there will be in the future. In the meantime it’s either RTS or a Tahoma hub and a choice of technology.

Didn’t realize I had yet another Zigbee network in my home with the Tahoma box. As I don’t use it: does anyone know if it is automatically turned off when not in use, or an option to turn it off manually?

They can only be used via a Tahoma hub ATM.
