Aqara H1 double battery switch high speed mode

Hi, I have an Aqara H1 wireless switch connected to Homey via ZigBee. I do not have an Aqara hub. It mostly works correctly, but there are two issues:

  • There is a noticeable delay when pressing a button before an action occurs. This does not happen when I run the Flow from the Homey app, so I think must be either the switch or the connection to Homey. I can see some stuff about a high-speed mode - has anyone had any success turning this on without an Aqara hub?

  • For a short period after pressing a button, further presses are either not registered or are heavily delayed before taking effect. This wouldn’t be so bad but combined with the above issue, which causes people to press multiple times as it isn’t as instant as a normal switch, it creates a bad experience. No idea what to do about this other than revert to a non-wireless switch and doing a load of wiring. Any ideas?

These aren’t minor issues, they really hurt the experience for people (i.e. anyone that didn’t set up the home automation) who expect a dumb-switch quality experience.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

The switch also accepts a double an triple click. So when it’s clicked once, it has to wait a while to make sure the second click isn’t coming.

My understanding is that high-speed mode disables the double click etc input, in order to enable responsiveness closer to an old fashioned switch
