No it is automatically added based on SDK and platform. A developer can set a minimum of maximum firmware version but that doesn’t charge that line.
Ah, ok, didn’t know that. Never too old to learn…
Btw, Franks problem is „just“ related to the TFA 30.3139 temperature sensor. Of course, for him it’s a pity, but in my opinion there is absolute no need to degrade the app compatibility just for HP19 and earlier, which would not work easily anyway.
But it would be appropriate to add an info in the App Store, that the TFA 30.3139 temperature sensor doesn’t work on HP23.
Has anybody created a ticket with Athom for this issue (i.e. that it works on HP19 and not on HP23)?
I am using a Cresta/TFA temp. sensor with humidity and it is working from the 5th of januari till today.
It is the only sensor that i have added to this app.
Do you have an Amazon link for me, please?
I think this was the temp sensor that I have bought years ago with my Homewizard.
Hey Homeys!
Can someone explain the “Repair” function for these sensors to me?
Periodically I’m having problems with some sensors not reporting for several hours to Homey. The same sensors do report to my Telldus Tellstick, so the sensors seems to be working as they should.
When this problem occurs I sometimes have been able to remedy it by removing and replacing the batteries but then the problem with flows being broken happen since the sensor gets a new ID.
I did read that one can use the repair function to “learn” Homey the new ID for the sensor…but I have never been able to get that to work. First I get an error message:
When I click “OK” the search for new sensors start and a new sensor is found (mostly). When I try to add that sensor I get the spinning thingie indefinitely and I have to click cancel, and subsequently the sensor is still dead. This is true for both the app and the web GUI. The only way to get the sensor back is to add it as a completely new sensor and redo all the flows that involved the old sensor ID.
Am I missing something with the repair function or is it broken?
Cheers from Sweden!
Fred
Hi!
@nlrb: Ones again, thanks a lot for a great app!
Coming back to this as I wanted to give another shot. I had the same issue back in 2022 and unfortunately it seems to still be the same.
I got my hopes up when I saw that the repair function actually found my device after changing batteries, but I am however experiencing the same as @Paxman above here.
If it would be possible to enter the channel and ID of the device manually I believe it would help solve these kind of issues.
As you can see from the screenshots below I have two sensors. One of them uses protocol UPM/Esic and the other one Alecto v1. The UPM/Esic works flawlessy when batteries are changed. For the Alecto one however, the Channel and ID for some reason changes when batteries are changed (as you can see on the sensor details below, the previous channel and ID were different). This is a problem because it means a new device has to be added and all flows updated with the new device.
When trying to repair the device it actually finds WS-1xxx, but when I press continue it gets stuck on an empty screen.
Do you have any advice on how this could be handled?
Although batteries aren’t replaced every day it is not ideal to rely on this sensor in flows if everything has to be updated when the batteries are replaced.
Thanks in advance
Hello! I have various temperature gauges connected to Homey Pro via Wireless Weather Sensors and it works very well in terms of being able to follow the temperatures. I have used the temperatures to create flows like “If the temperature is less/greater than” that works great. Now I want to create a Flow with temperature as a “and”, but I can’t find any of the temperatures available for that.
Is there an option somewhere “And the temperature is less/greater than xx” ?
@Grete If you want to use a AND cart for the temperature you can use a Logic card.
By “Nummer” select the card of the sensor and then “Is less then” or “Is greater then”.
I have a temperature/humidity sensor (Oregon v.2 433 MHz) that ran fine with my Vera and also into Homey Pro (2023). The other day I changed it’s name and location and somehow the unit inside the Homey said app didn’t work. When looking under the hood in the app I can se that the Homey receives the signal perfectly but I can’t add the unit as new nor can I found out how to recreate it since Homey already seem to know about it.
Any ideas?
There is a Topic for that app:
Therefore Moved!
Does i show up in the Mobile app under More … Apps - Wireless Weather Sensors - as a Device??
Hey Homeys!
Anyone else that is having major problems with this app at the moment?
For some time there has been many, many times that my 433 MHz-sensors are not reported having changed their data for hours. Restarting the app does not change anything, and restarting Homey sometimes fixes it until the same thing happens again a few hours later. Sometimes restarting Homey doesn’t even fix it and I have to reboot it again. I have tried PTP but that didn’t do anything different from rebooting.
I know that the sensors are working fine and are sending data since I still have my previous system (Tellstick) running and can see that the sensors are updating.
Many of my lights are controlled by a 433 MHz light sensor so when Homey doesn’t register the changes in the light sensor the light will not turn on and off according to my flow. Also I have several flows using temperature sensors to warn me for example if the freezer has broken. With this unreliability I can’t trust Homey for the “automations” that I use the mosts.
The rest of the 433 MHz system is working fine i.e. I can control all my 433 MHz devices manually from the app or the web page.
Since it is one way communication, troubleshooting is very difficult.
Most of the time it is caused by
- a device in your neighborhood that has a stronger signal on the same frequency
- one of your own sensors with an almost empty battery that causes a data storm that prevents data to be received by Homey.
This I have read about before, so I checked. I did find one sensor that hadn’t registered for quite some time and took a look at it. The weird thing was that the display was showing the frozen value. Replaced the batteries and it started to work again, so I thought that I had found the culprit…but no, same problem.
Also, I would think that a data storm from a sensor or a device with a stronger signal would affect the Tellstick also…not only Homey.
Now it happened again. Homey has not updated any of the sensors value for 3 hours. Restarting the app does nothing.
I have not found any sensor with low battery apart from the one I found the other day. There are three sensors with the red warning triangle. Those are for the pool system that is in winter storage at the moment so I have taken the batteries out of them (in October). Can that be the reason for the problem? That Homey is searching for them and gets no signal? Seems unlikely to me…
I don’t think there is any other device with stronger signal in the neighborhood. I live in a detached house with several meters from my neighbours.
Hello guys and thank you for this app. Just discovered it now and wonder if my lacrosse station is compatible. It is a ws6206 with sensor wstxem02-th06-23
Is there any support for this app or is it “dead in the water” without a captain?
I guess this app is basically dead regarding development and support.
However, maybe users does have knowledge about it so I’ll take a chance to ask a question:
Does anyone know what the “OK” number is in the apps configure page? I’m guessing that is has to do with how well Homey receives the signal from sensors of the specific protocol…but how does it work? If the number is below 100% are the signals incomplete, scrambled or what?
I have had major issues with this app for weeks now and I’m putting hours after hours of work trying to figure out what’s wrong. Since there is no support at all for this app any more there is not much one can do but to struggle in the dark.
I deleted all my sensors from Homey and the app and Homey was stable for more than 48 hours (which it has not been for many weeks) and are now starting from scratch. I first powered all my 18 sensors but did not include them in Homey. I then installed the app and monitored the configure page. I have sensors working with two of the protocols: Alecto V3 and Oregon scientific V3. The first one has 100% OK but the Oregon has low OK, 13% when I took this screenshot:
(Ignore the Oregon V2…I have unticked that after the screenshot)
Why is this number so low? Those sensors are on an outdoor weather station that is located about 3-4 meters away from Homey with just wood and roof tiles in the way.
My next step is to unpower all sensors (except the weather station) and start to include one sensor at the time to see if Homey starts acting up again. If it does I know that this app is causing major issues with Homey and I can not use it anymore.
