[APP][Pro] WARP Charger – WARP wallboxes and WARP Energy Manager

German version: [APP][Pro] WARP Charger – WARP-Wallboxen und WARP Energy Manager

WARP Charger brings the WARP wallboxes and the WARP Energy Manager by Tinkerforge to Homey Pro. The app talks to your devices directly over your local network via the WARP HTTP API. No cloud, no account.

Supported devices

  • WARP Charger 1, 2, 3 and 4 (Smart and Pro)
  • WARP Energy Manager 1 and 2.0
  • Firmware 2.x

What you get

  • Wallbox: status, power, allowed current, active phases, session duration and energy, meter reading, last NFC user and vehicle charge (WARP4 Pro with ISO 15118). If the wallbox is waiting, the status tells you why, e.g. “Waiting for release: PV surplus”.
  • Energy Manager: grid power, import and feed-in, PV surplus, day-ahead electricity price, PV forecast, outside temperature, §14a, inputs, relays and SG Ready.
  • Homey Energy: the wallbox shows up as an EV charger, the Energy Manager can serve as your main meter.
  • 9 dashboard widgets: wallbox status, charge mode, energy flow (full and compact), PV surplus, phase load, electricity price today, charging history and charge manager.
  • Flow cards, e.g. a vehicle was connected, a charging session ended, PV surplus rose above / fell below, electricity price fell below / rose above, now among the cheapest hours, §14a limit, an input switched.
  • API meter: Homey can write values into a WARP API meter, e.g. the power of a home battery that WARP can’t read itself.
  • App settings: order and visibility of the values per device, optional logging with an error list.

Control (beta)
Every new device starts in Display only mode: Homey shows values but doesn’t switch anything. Turn it off in the device settings to start and stop charging and to set current limit, charge mode, phases, boost, charge limits and the Eco charge plan. Relays/SG Ready and the API meter have their own switches, off by default.

Setup

  1. Install WARP Charger from the Homey App Store.
  2. Add a device: WARP Charger for a wallbox, WARP Energy Manager for the Energy Manager. The app finds them on your network. If not, choose Manual and enter the IP address.
  3. If login is enabled in the WARP web interface, enter user name and password.

Tip: give each WARP device a fixed IP address in your router.

Good to know

  • Tested only with a WARP3 Charger Smart and an Energy Manager 2.0. WARP1, WARP2, WARP4, the Pro models and the Energy Manager 1 are supported but untested.
  • If a charge manager controls the wallbox, charge mode for all wallboxes, available current and Eco charge plan are set on the manager.
  • WARP devices have only a few connection slots. Don’t keep the WARP web interface open all the time.
  • This is an unofficial hobby project, not a Tinkerforge product.

Feedback welcome
Do you own a WARP1, WARP2, WARP4, a Pro model or an Energy Manager 1? Let me know if everything shows up correctly. For bugs, please turn on logging in the app settings, reproduce the problem, send a diagnostic report from the app page and post the log ID here.
