Bring the remotes for your awning, gate and doorbell into your smart home
This is the official thread for support, feedback and discussion about Universal RF Remote.
What it does
Lots of devices come with a simple 433 MHz remote and no official Homey app. Homey’s built-in clone function can’t handle all of them. Universal RF Remote fills that gap by letting you import .sub files captured with a Flipper Zero, so Homey can send those signals for you.
What can I control with it?
If it came with a basic RF remote and you’ve never found an app for it, it’s worth a try. Typical examples:
- Ceiling fans with remote control (Westinghouse, Hunter, Hampton Bay, CasaFan, Lucci Air and many unbranded fans)
- Awnings, sun screens, blinds and roller shutters with fixed-code motors
- Gates and garage doors with fixed-code remotes (often older CAME, Nice or FAAC remotes)
- Wireless doorbells (Byron, Friedland, Avidsen and similar)
- Remote-controlled sockets and plugs (Nexa, Proove, KlikAanKlikUit/KaKu, Brennenstuhl, Elro, Silvercrest)
- LED strips, lamps and string lights with RF remotes
- Electric fireplaces, heaters, projector screens and other gadgets with a 433 MHz remote
Not sure if your device works? Post the brand and model below and we’ll figure it out together.
Where to find .sub files
Don’t have a Flipper Zero? There are community databases with ready-made files:
Good to know
Remotes that use rolling codes (most newer garage doors, Somfy RTS and car keys) can’t be replayed. The app works with fixed-code remotes.
Getting support
To help me help you, please include:
- Your Homey model and firmware version
- The app version
- The brand and model of the device you’re trying to control
- The
.subfile (or the source you got it from) - What happens, and what you expected to happen
Feature requests and ideas are very welcome too, whether here or on GitHub.
