Some days ago I switched my network to Ubiquiti components and found this nice app. But I can’t get it connected to my Ubiquiti Gateway Ultra. Some more informations:

  • Running the Gateway with UnifyOS 4.0.6
  • WAN port connected to a private network (AVM Fritzbox)
  • Added a local admin user (viewOnly)

The user works fine and can login using the web interface. Here’s the configuration for the app in Homey:

I tested:

  • 192.168.3.254 (external WAN-IP)
  • 192.168.11.1 (internal IP for subnet used by Homey too)

Do you have any hint how I can get it working?

What is the error message that you get?

Awesome! Let me know if you need testing support

The error message is (as mentioned from others before):

If I try to open “https://192.168.11.1/” I’ve got an SSL mismatch error, because the gateway uses a certificate with unifi.local:

Does the app override strict SSL checks or is it possible, that this mismatch prevent the connection?

I am wondering if it would be possible to scan a WiFi clients name via Homey.

To kinda use person presence detection via “Phone name” instead of static IP-address.

( I am using a 1x Unifi Dream router + 2x UP 6 Pro )

Since 22-07 it is mandarory tomise mfa authentication. Is that the reason that i cant use the app on my Homey Pro?

Read the post above your post

I’d like to setup a flow to alert me whenever a guest (non-paired) device connects to my guest SSID but can’t seem to get it working.

With a paired device “Connected” flow works.
Using the “Device just connected” flow doesn’t work for any device (paired and non-paired).

Also, I have Event Log Enabled but there are no entries.

Unifi OS 4.0.6
Unifi Network 8.3.32
Homey app 2.4.2

Thanks

Hi Stephan!

Would it be possible to make a tile that states the amount of devices connected to a certain wifi?

I know home assistant has this option for Unifi.

Use case:

I have a guest network. If anything is connected to this network, guest mode should be turned on. This would be superior to adding each and every clients wifi… :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

I would love to hear if you could make this work!

Thanks in advance!

I can add devices but after a little wile it stops updating status on devices added.

Please enable ‘Enable application flows’ in the settings

After some hours? and it works again after restarting the app?

I have “Enable application flows” enabled, Interval & Websocket pull methods and 5 interval.

I have Homey reboot once a day and notice for 5-20 minutes directly after reboot the “Device just connected” works for a non-paired device but then stops, same happens the following day.

I want to start a flow when a specific device connects to a specific AP - is that possible?

Something like this maybe?

Can you try the new test version?

Thanks, installed v2.4.5 (Test) and seemed to take a few minutes to settle down with the Sites tab giving a 401 error and Settings page undefined status.

It then worked like previously with some events for non-paired devices but then stopped again. If I look at the Client log on the UDM Pro I can see WiFi clients connecting and disconnecting.

Sites tab showing default site OK.

Event log enabled but still blank page.

Settings
Status: Connected
Realtime updates Status: Connected
Last Update at: the time is a not long after install time and hasn’t updated (Interval is set to 5), not sure if this time should change.

A further update, 60 minutes later and got a few more events for non-paired devices triggered and the Last Update time is now 60 minutes later.

But during that time still have non-paired devices connecting and disconnecting that aren’t triggering.
