Local users should be possible without 2FA I think.
And it’s better to use a readonly user for automations/app access.
Local accounts does not have 2FA support, only cloud accounts. Our integration are using local accounts so 2FA is not needed for now.
I can’t create local users on my UDM SE. I don’t think that’s possible anymore?
- Sign into UDM Pro locally ( internal ip)
- Click the 9 dots in the top right corner, and select “Unifi OS”.
- On the left side, click “Admins”.
- Click “Add New Admin”.
- Disable the “Allow Remote Access” checkbox.
- You should have seen the email address box switch to username and password boxes. Enter the local credentials and press the “Add” button.
Thanks!!!
And did it work ?
Yes, it works as described above. ![]()
Hi! Is there any way to use this (or another) app to detect the upstream/downstream throughput in kbps of a particular device?
I have a device that i need to reconnect every once and a while, it would be nice to solve it with a reconnect-command from homey.
Is there a solution / method / script to accomplish that?
( i see such a method in this php-script client.php )
I have managed to get the message “credentials are valid” in the settings page. But when I try to add a device I get an 401 error message.
I have tried to change the permissions for the local Homey user from viewer to full management and site admin and tried the latest test version of the app. But still get 401 when trying to add a device.
The password for the user is long and strong (auto generated by a password manager), saw from the history here that that might cause problems.
Any ideas what might be the issue?
Ok, will reply to myself.
After restarting the app a bunch of times I finally managed to get it to list devices.
After some restarts I got an error when trying to view the list of site ID’s. So something was buggy.
For info, I ended up using the non-test version of the app and only having viewer permissions on my local user.
Can someone explain to me how I can create a (normal) flow that checks a persons presence? Using only connect/disconnect does not do the trick as persons within the house are regularly roaming between multiple eaccespoint.
When a specific Smartphone disconnects, I start a timer for 90 seconds. When that timer reaches zero, I check if the device is still disconnected, and set the status of the enduser to away.
When the device connects, I stop the timer. If the enduser was away, set the status to at home.
Thanks, I think I’ve something similar which is not working, but I will rethink. In one room roaming takes place between two access points quite regularly. Can I also involve the roaming to card?
Thank you,
Got it working ![]()
I have one striking exception to make :-p One of the members in my household has an iPhone 13 and that device despite the 90 secs wait constantly disconnects and connects. Apparently connection (while probable roaming to another AP) is not noticed for 3 to up to even 12 minutes!
Someone has ideas to fix this?
Please disable ‘Private wifi address’ on your own wifi on the iPhone.
Settings → Wifi → Select your wifi → Disable ‘Private wifi address’
Today, I saw that I don’t have access since a few weeks and get the message credentials invalid. The problem is, that I changed to 2FA. Now I would like to make a new admin like your description above. Is it right, that I have to make a new admin user and check the checkbox “Restrict to local access only”. And this username and passwort I can take for the Homey app?
And the credentials below, I can set “View only” for everything. Are this settings OK?
Yes that is correct! Only the update command will not work because the view only rights. If you don’t use that then this is the correct way.
Password must be 12 chars or longer
@ObelixNL could you add the ability to power cycle poe ports?
