[APP][Pro] Tuya Zigbee App

Yes, I noticed, even when temp. and humid. is already synchronised, in this case it is already months and still no info.

Hi
My problem is mine switched on itself

Did you get any solution

Thanks
Jim

Hi all,

I’m experiencing an issue with a Tuya Zigbee temperature and humidity sensor and hope someone can help me.

Situation

  • I have installed the test version v0.2.25 of the Tuya Zigbee app on my Homey.
  • The sensor has been successfully paired and is visible in Homey.
  • In the Developer tools under Zigbee, the sensor is shown with the following details:
    • Manufacturer: ā€œ_TZE200locansqnā€
    • ModelID: ā€œTS0601ā€

Problem

Although the sensor is visible in Homey, no temperature or humidity values are being read or displayed.

What I’ve Already Tried

  • Re-pairing the sensor to Homey
  • Checking for updates for the Tuya Zigbee app
  • Pairing with all available ā€œLCD Temperature & Humidity Sensorā€ drivers
  • Resetting the sensor by removing the batteries

Questions

  1. Does anyone have experience with this specific sensor (TS0601) in combination with Homey?
  2. Are there any known issues with the test version v0.2.25 of the Tuya Zigbee app related to temperature/humidity sensors?
  3. Are there any additional steps I should take to get the sensor to function correctly?
  4. Is there perhaps another app or driver that works better with this sensor?
  5. Are there specific settings or configurations that I should check or adjust?

Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated. If additional information is needed, please let me know, and I’ll provide it as soon as possible.

Thank you in advance for your time and support!

I have two exactly the same sensors. one works fine in Homey Pro 2023
and the other is added as an unknown Zigbee device. Anyone have an idea what’s going on?

That’s fairly normal for Tuya devices and Homey: internals may change causing Homey to not be able to recognise it anymore. The one that’s added as unknown will need an update from the Tuya Zigbee app.

As listed above, only these two versions are supported yet:

As Robert has already mentioned, you will have a device with a different ID, which will only be recognized as an unknown device.
Check the 1st post how to request a device.

I am having the same problem. I bought one of these for my greenhouse, but unfortunately it has a different ID (_TZE204_myd45weu TS0601). I see on GitHub that it is already requested, but I also see the version on the homey-apps page hasn’t been updated for 6 months (v0.2.25) and the GitHub version seems to be updated to v0.2.26 4 months ago, and that was the last activity as far as I can see. I hope the project isn’t dead…? In the meantime, I am trying to figure out if there is another way for me to get this device working with Homey.

Only the app developer can answer that.

Hi there especially Johan Bentz, can I ask you how far you are with updating the Tuya Zigbee app ?? And there is another problem now, after the recent Homey Updates I can’t switch or start my Zigbee devices anymore, is there anyone else with this problem.
I restarted Homey already but no luck.
And also can’t add any device anymore get this message

Best regards Peter.

That’s a Homey issue, not an app issue. You have to contact Athom about it.

Hi Robert,
thanks I will contact Atom group about it than.

Best regards Peter.

Hi there all,
Iv’e solved the Zigbee problem by putting the Homey into the recovery mode and then reĆÆnstalled the Homey Firmware again.
After the recovery everything was working again.

Best regards Peter.

Hi all,

I’ve been on vacation for a month, but now I’m back on track.

I have been discussing the possibility of releasing an ā€œOfficialā€ app with Athom for years, a version that would also be available on the bridge. So far, Athom has denied my request as they hoped Tuya would release an app themselves that would support both Wi-Fi and Zigbee units. However, it ended up as an Athom-developed app for cloud integration. The positive part of this is that Tuya now actually takes responsibility for the API versus third-party integrations.

Athom also enhanced their default Zigbee support for unknown devices, something they hoped would eliminate the need for apps like this one. In a perfect world, we wouldn’t need any of these… I would be the first to congratulate them if that happened. But so far, we still need brand apps to handle quite a few devices.

All of this together made working with the app a bit dull. Coupled with the massive backlog of requests, I felt overwhelmed and unmotivated. I know many have contributed with PRs and good info for adding devices or solving issues, and I’m sorry if you feel that I haven’t delivered.

However, Athom has now decided this app is needed and has asked me to release an ā€œOfficialā€ app. I’m still in discussions with them and hope their partnership with Tuya might benefit me somehow, enabling a better and quicker way to add devices. Time will tell.

Additionally, there are still outstanding issues with Athom’s Zigbee implementation, resulting in strange and inconsistent problems such as non-reporting devices, devices dropping out of the network, etc. As far as I can tell, this is nothing I can ever fix in the app.

I will now put time and effort into updating the app with new model IDs/manufacturer names for existing devices, merge any outstanding PRs that are solid, and then start chipping away at the backlog. Hopefully, I can get back to you with positive news within a few months regarding an ā€œOfficialā€ app…

And… a big thanks to everyone who contributes to the app’s development in any way—financially, with knowledge, and through coding.

Great news! Confirms what I was complaining about. Official app are needed. Depending on good will works only for some time. And as we see for rain bird app it is too much depending on one individual whatever how nice and willing he is. He can quit whenever he wants. And Athom must deliver and finance these developments.
We wish you the best

It’s good to hear from you Johan. I understand quite well that you weren’t motivated.
Everyone is pulling left, right and center and you didn’t get any help from the right people ( companies ).
I really hope that there can be one or more apps that help the end-user(s). I say app because with that many devices and manufacturors it might be better to let different apps handle all the messages / requests etc etc. Split per device-type ( lights, switches, etc, etc )?

Sorry I didn’t see the message, yes video released, it’s the last one, with a Tuya wifi irrigation pump. I needed the integration to take advantage of a soil moisture sensor connected to Homey.

BTW, the app is now fixed because I could finally integrate my Tya account sucessfully and see the device.

@johan_bendz
Hi Johan nice to hear that there’s going to be a change so you can get on with your suggestions at Athom.
Wishing you good luck and hope to see a lot of improvement’s soon.

I’ve seen that there was a ZigBee repair already yesterday and now my Network is a lot more stable and all my devices working again and don’t have to restart the Tuya ZigBee app every 3 hours anymore so I paused the flow I made for that.

Best regards Peter.

Glad to hear there is a progress in relation to Athom and fresh motivation for further development of Tuya Zigbee. I’ve expressed my expectations on Athom months ago to more actively support Tuya Zigbee devices. I hope they are finally going to understand that these devices are not neglictible in smart home automation.

I’ve tried last Tuya app for cloud integration. I wold like to mention a detail, which I wish to be supported in Tuya Zigbee app, too. This is support for devices of type ā€œotherā€, which enable us to send commands to not yet supported/unknown devices from flows, if we interviewed them and are familiar with what they accept. I miss there a possibility of receiveing statuses, which I would also welcome in Tuya Zigbee.

My congratulations, Johan, for great work you’ve already done and best wishes for further improvements.

That’s not possible because of how Zigbee is implemented on Homey.

Thank you for explanation.

I’m at the begining of my home automation and have a problem buying not too expensive devices for which I would relatively reliably know in advance, before I buy them, if they are already supported in Tuya Zigbee app. Is anywere published a list of implemented devices together with info acquired in new device request forms, including manufacturer or store links, or something else to help in searching for already impleneted devices?
