[APP][Pro] Tuya Cloud - This app allows you to connect Homey to the Tuya cloud

A couple of days ago my Tuya lights stopped working. I have tried to unlink the devices in Tuya Cloud, remove the app in Homey and re-install but with the same result. My Tuya lights are not possible to operate from Homey. I don’t get any error messages in the Homey app and I cannot see that anything happens in the device log at Tuya Cloud. I’m 100% sure that the API Access ID’s and secret are entered correctly.
After reinstalling the app I always get the message “Please configure the app first” when I try to add the devices.
Do anyone have any idea about what I’m doing wrong?

I have tried the settings “Offical”, “Legacy” and both several times, there is no difference to me.
I have also followed B3rt’s instruction to unlink the devices several times (Automatic Link, and permissions, RWM). I can no longer add my devices in Homey due to the message “Please Configure the app first”.
I’m starting to think that I should start fresh, wipe my Tuya Cloud account and take it from there. A bit of work though, especially since everything worked fine until early this week.

Try changing your tuya smart phone app password.

Thanks for the input. Changed the password both in the app and at developer.tuya.com but still impossible to add devices due to “Please configure the app first.”.

Huh? You’d change the pw only in the phone app, and ofc edit it to match that also @ TuyaCloud app app configuration

Aaaaannnd now it works for some strange reason! Only change I did post my previous entry was to switch back to “Legacy Only”. Now everything looks fine again.
However, a bit mystery why this just ceased to work earlier this week.

But… legacy is going to stop at some point in time!
That is the point of the changed settings and the added official API.
So, it is a temporary “solved”, sorry :wink:

I followed the online guides to connect my Tuya (SmartLife) curtainswitch to Homey. I got it to “work” using central europe and germany although I’m in the Netherlands. I can control the shutter with the Tuya app and I see the shutter in Homey. So far so good. But…nothing happens when I try to adjust the shutter using the Homey app. I hope someone can assist me with this problem.

It sounds like the same problem i have :frowning: also Lights and no errors. I have changed it from official to legal and back, after that it works again! :slight_smile:

You mean switch between official and legacy I guess. I tried it without any result.

I just figured out that scenes from the smart life app work in Homey. I only see them when I choose for legacy scènes. So direct control in Homey does not work but scenes do. Strange. Maybe the developer can comment on this?

Second question. I would like to start an action when someone presses a button on the curtain switch. I can’t choose any curtain switch input when programming the IF of a new flow. Does this mean Homey can’t read input of the curtain switch when using the buttons of the fysical switch?

after updating and resetting the radiator knob, it still doesn’t work through a flow. when I change my virtual thermostat the radiator knob is not adjusted in the homey

Rick, it could be possible the target temperature only accepts values rounded at 0.5
When you test this flow, and enter a ‘fake’ target temperature value of 20.3, does the ‘THEN’ card return an error?

That is a dead end road.
Legacy = about to be cut off by TUYA

So, there’s no other way but to try to get it working via the official API like described in post #1

Can you please check directly with rhe thermostat device?

  • set temperature and check in Tuya app if it’s changed there. Then it’s sent to Tuya API correctly.
  • The other way around: change temp in Tuya app and check if Homey device is updated. If that works, check is changes at the termostat itself are updating Tuya app and Homey.

The Thermostats seem to have 1 decimal and a step of 0.5. That means - like Peter said - only temperatures in 0,5 steps are allowed. Please try with these values.

Same issue here. Tuya devices not working anymore. Tried the unlink and relink suggestion in Tuya cloud. No error when pressing save in the Tuya cloud app (anymore) but bulbs not turning on or off when pressing the device in homey. From the official Tuya app it’s working. When trying to add a Tuya device in homey it says please configure app first. If anyone finds a fix …… kindly let me know.

which app version do you run? Looks like the old (and then the only) error message.

if i change it in the homey app it also changes in the tuya app. when i change it in the tuya app nothing changes in homey. and about decimals I change it with for example 5 degrees
